The Father Judge Crusaders finished 9-11 a year ago and will return five starters in 2012. Head Coach Tim Ginter hopes that his pitching will be a strong suit in 2013.
Chris Thompson is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound senior LHP/1B who will be asked to lead the pitching staff with help from senior RHP/3B Josh Teson and sophomore LHP/1B Ryan O'Neill. Ginter is high on O'Neill, calling him a "throwback, thinking man's player".
Senior OF Mike O'Hanlon will be counted on for continued offensive production. He hit over .500 in 2011 before injuring his knee in the fall. O'Hanlon hit .340 last spring on a damaged knee, but could easily return to his sophomore form now that he is healthy. The Crusaders will also rely heavily on senior catcher Ryan Mackweicz and junior INF/OF Mike Taffe, who Ginter calls the team leaders.
Junior Bill Romano and sophomore Eric Petroski will also likely see time in the infield and could make an impact according to Ginter.
