Matt Kesel (Francis Howell Central) is a 6-foot-3 215-pound right pitcher.
Kesel has a strong frame and high three quarters release. He has a controlled to leg lift, accelerates down the mound. He stays in line, and throws with some effort.
His fastball was at 87-90 mph at the Winter Pitchers Showcase and he posted to the top fastball velo at the Top Prospect Game - St. Louis on June 6. He shows an 11-to-5 action breaking ball with gradual action His change up has arm side sink, 81-82 mph, near fastball arm speed.

Kesel: I am looking for a school where I will have an opportunity to earn a spot on the field, a school that will continue my development as a player, a school that puts a competitive team on the field, and a school with a good business program.
PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?
Kesel: Our team was 15-11-1. I worked mostly in relief this year and was 1-2 with 1 save.
PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?
Kesel: To be a regular starter all season and help lead our team to a district title.
