Connor Picascio, OF, Sachem East, NY (2016)
Picascio stands 5-foot-10, 165-pounds with a lean frame. From the OF he charges the ball hard, moves well evidenced by his 4.19 home to first time, fields in front of his left leg, clean exchange, throws from a high-3/4 slot, 77-79 mph arm strength. At the plate his setup is relaxed, short stride, back load on the pitch. Hands stay inside the ball, 77 mph exit velocity off a tee, with a short path. Barrel is slightly inclined through the zone, some extension out in front with a high finish.
Analysis:
Picascio has a projectable body that will likely continue to develop with maturity. Above average arm strength with signs of more in the tank. Highly-athletic OF who needs to get physically stronger with the bat but shows plenty of upside. Excited to see him Feb. 20th at our All-Long Island Invite-Only.
