Scouting Report
2/16/18 - Beason is a physical and athletic 6-foot-2 195-pound left-handed hitting second baseman and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. He ran a 4.19 home to first and has an 86 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts loaded in back leg, pre-pitch rhythm in hands, open stance, controlled in line stride, accelerated tempo, quick bat speed, aggressive and strong hands, mostly middle to pull side contact, has power to the pull gap. On the infield, short over the top arm slot, 72 mph positional velocity, athletic footwork to the ball creates momentum to throw, fluid exchange on time with feet, mostly accurate throws. On the mound, Beason showed command with three pitches, high three quarters arm slot, smooth tempo, throws with some effort at release, stays level and in line, fastball worked, 84-85 mph, good command, has sharp action on curveball, 11-to-5 action, lands for a strike, throws straight change up at 76-77 mph, throws for strike down in the zone with near fastball arm speed
