Player Spotlight: 2018 IF Mason Pierce

Pierce had an outstanding performance at the Houston Top Prospect Games. He began the day with a 6.62-second 60-yard dash and threw 90 mph across the infield. The right handed hitter starts from a neutral stance and has a short stride to get started. Simple, flat hand path with strength at contact. Gap approach, line drives during batting practice with some carry and backspin. Defensively has smooth footwork with an easy approach to the ball. Plays low with his hands in front and has solid glove skills and the ability to play on the run. With Pierce's speed, arm strength and athleticism he would be a great addition to a recruiting class.
