2016 LHP Brandon Matros committed to Ouachita Baptist University. I have watched him develop as a player for the past three years. The first time I saw was the winter before his freshmen season at Arkadelphia High School. He has matured as a player gaining velocity and polishing his command of all three pitches. Here is the current PBR Analysis of Brandon Matros from this past summer.
2016, LHP Brandon Matros, Arkadelphia HS
Matros is a 6-foot 190 pound LHP with a large frame and an average body. He works from a H ¾ arm slot with a clean loose arm action. During his inning of work he attacked the strike zone with a 83-86 mph fastball with late life through the strike zone. He threw his 1/7 curveball for a strike at 71-73 mph with late break. He repeats his mechanics consistently with little effort and fluid rhythm. Overall, Matros is a solid LHP with a advanced pitchabilty and repeatable mechanics. Overall Matros is an advanced pitcher with a clean arm action and repeatable mechanics, he should have a smooth transition to the collegiate game.
