Louisiana State recruit and Teurlings Catholic OF Nick Webre has been named this week’s Prep Baseball Report Louisiana Player of the Week thanks to his outstanding performance at the plate last week.

Currently ranked No. 6 in Louisiana’s 2017 class, No. 185 Overall, Webre was a big part of the success this weekend for Teurlings Catholic, who went 3-2 on the week.

Webre went 7-for-14 with four home runs, two doubles, and 14 RBI.

Webre has helped lead Teurlings Catholic to a 13 and 8 start in the 2017 campaign, after their state championship run in 2016. Mike Thibodeaux, Teurlings Catholic Head Coach said of Webre’s week “Nick is starting to get his home run stroke. He’s homered four times in the last four games, with two of those being grand slams. In three years as a starter for us, he has always gotten better offensively in April, and this year to our team’s benefit, he appears to be a couple weeks ahead of schedule.”

For his efforts, Webre has been named the Prep Baseball Report Louisiana Player of the Week for the week of March 23 – March 28.
