Bethel Park (13-2) rebounded from yesterday’s tough one run loss to Peters Township by topping Hempfield Area (11-4) in a non-league game.
No. 5 Nazareth 11, Stroudsburg 10
Five runs in the sixth and seventh innings were just enough to help Nazareth (12-3) get by Stroudsburg. Billy Deutsch was the hitting star for Nazareth with two doubles and five RBI. Stroudsburg totaled 17 hits in the losing effort.
Calvert Hall (MD) 6, No. 6 Malvern Prep 4
Malvern Prep continued its busy schedule with a cross state game with Calvert Hall, MD. Malvern came up short falling to 19-5 on the season. Nick Bateman and Joe Ravert both doubled in the loss.
No. 8 Cedar Crest 8, Reading 1
Connor Bawiec, Patrick McCabe and Zach Smith combined to hold Reading to just four hits on the afternoon. McCabe picked up the win as Cedar Crest (13-3) won again.
No. 9 Northern York 3, Bishop McDevitt 2
Rusty Simmoneau came on in relief to end a Bishop McDevitt threat in the seventh inning, picking up the save and securing the win for Northern York (11-3). Steve Varner was the hard luck loser for Bishop McDevitt going the distance and giving up just three runs.
No. 15 Penn Charter 3, Perkiomen School 0
Penn Charter waited to the seventh inning to do its scoring, but the three run outburst was all that was need to put away Perkiomen School 3-0. Steven Cohen’s two-run double was the big blow for PC (18-4).
No. 15 Penn Charter 10, Perkioment School 4
In the first game of today’s doubleheader, Penn Charter improved to 17-4 on the season behind a 10 hit attack. Gian Regni hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning and Jared Massaro had three RBI to lead the PC offense.
