Pakersburg south 3, parkersburg 0
In an elimination, rivalry game the Parkersburg South Patriots were able to rise to the occasion in avenging Monday's one run loss to Parkersburg. They did so in large part thanks to the right arm of Hunter DeLong. DeLong pitched an efficient complete game shutout needing only 85 pitches to get through seven innings.
The Patriots did the game's only scoring in the bottom of the 1st innings as they put together five hits to score three runs. Dalton Wiggins, Bryce Eagle, DeLong, and Ryan Taylor all singled while Bem Menarchek doubled. Sophomore Max Anderson entered the game on the hill for Parkersburg to start the second and was outstanding in holding Parkersburg South scoreless the rest of the way. He did so throwing only 60 pitches in five innings while allowing one hit and not walking a batter.
Parkersburg's Kyle Goodwin (right) recorded the only multi-hit game for either side going 2-for-3. DeLong's final line read 7 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 5 K. Parkersburg South moves on in sectional play to take on Ripley.
