Northern Nevada
The Northern Nevada Player of the Week honors go to senior, Hunter Dudley of Spanish Springs. Dudley was 4 for 7 with a double, and a grand slam. He totaled six RBI and has been instrumental in assisting the Cougars to a 12-4 regular season record.
’19 Cole Demosthenes of Galena earns the Pitcher of the Week award. Demosthenes picked up three saves, throwing a total of 6.1 innings, striking out 13. He led the Grizzlies to a 3-0 mark on the week and propelled them to a share of first place.
Southern Nevada
Foothill’s, ’19 Ryan Nickell (RHP) corrals the Southern Nevada Pitcher of the week recognition, tossing 6 innings of no-hit baseball and striking out 11. The Falcons are in a battle to secure their playoff spot and needed Nickell’s standout performance on the mound headed into the final week of regular season play.
The Southern Nevada Player of the Week Honors belong to ’19 Dylan Howell (Faith Lutheran). Howell was 1 for 2 in limited duty against Desert Pines due to a run-rule shortened game but drove in all four runs for the Crusaders in their win over Centennial. He doubled, homered and executed a squeeze play. Faith Lutheran leads the Mountain Region with a 10-1 record.
