PBR Week in Review
June 12, 2017
A look back at what happened at the Prep Baseball Report the week of June 5-11. National Supervisor Nathan Rode has everything you need to know heading into the MLB Draft. Two installments of On the Hunt featuring prospects from Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas and more. A new PBR Podcast, updated rankings, and much more..
D1 BASEBALL/PREP BASEBALL REPORT EXPERTS' DRAFT
The 2017 MLB Draft starts Monday and the collaboration between D1 Baseball and Prep Baseball Report continues with the experts’ draft. Frankie Piliere and Nathan Rode alternate taking picks in the first round, as if they were the scouting directors of the teams. This is not a mock draft, forecasting what teams will do based on intel. Rather, it’s what our experts would do if given the reigns of the respective organizations.

In this installment of, On the Hunt, Louisiana and Arkansas take center stage as the prospects in those states have already begun making their marks on the summer of 2017. Each player features plenty of upside to entice prospective recruiters, and have a strong chance of developing into even better prospects in the future.
With many events kicking off last weekend, and On the Hunt travelling to New Jersey and Ohio, keep an eye out for much more content the rest of this week.
RECRUITING ESSENTIALS: TRANSFERS
Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting
The summer is here and the coaching carousel has begun. Just about every current and former coach in the country is keeping their ear to the ground to be “in the know” on the current hiring’s, firings, and job openings. While many coaches are not looking to leave, the drama around jobs can keep life on the road interesting between innings.
The other carousel that coaches are watching is the player carousel. Commits may be de-committing. Players will be transferring. Graduate students may be looking for their one shot at glory in another program. Today we will take a look at the transfer process with regards to the NCAA rules.
ON THE HUNT: TX/OK/IA PROJECTABLE POSITION PLAYERS (PLUS TWO ARMS) 6/8

College coaches looking for some athletic, projectable position players are going to want to jot down the players in, On the Hunt, today as each one has a high ceiling. Four of the young prospects come from a loaded 2020 Texas travel program including a big, physical right-handed arm that has been up to 87 mph. Two 2019 standouts from a recent PBR Oklahoma event built a case to become national names on the recruiting circuit, and a physical, power-hitting left hander from Iowa in the 2019 class will be making a name for himself later in the summer...possibly at August’s PBR Future Games.
Be sure to keep a lookout for Monday’s, On the Hunt, as the top performers from PBR New Jersey and Ohio’s events, that I visited, will start being released.
