PBR Tennessee 2022 Winter Showcase Calendar: Release
November 29, 2021
On Nov. 9, Prep Baseball Report unveiled its national Preseason ID showcase schedule, including Tennessee’s three events. It all starts on January 2nd in Nashville, with a handful of events spanning the state leading into the start of the TSSAA season this spring.
If you’re curious to learn more about the Prep Baseball Report’s showcase structure, here’s an idea of what you can expect while attending and following a PBR showcase.
WHAT IS A PRESEASON ID EVENT?
The Preseason ID series is unique in several ways. It serves as an identifier heading into the spring high school season, giving our scouts as well as college recruiters, a list of prospects to follow as they plan their spring coverage. We also tend to see prospects’ best performances in the Preseason, as most athletes are fresh and coming off of strict and targeted off-season training programs that have resulted in big gains, primed for updating their PBR profile. All of which lends the perfect opportunity to secure invitations to some of the summer's biggest invite-only events such as the Top Prospect Games, PBR Future Games, and more.
Our staff strategically hosts Preseason I.D. events throughout the state in search of players who have taken advantage of the offseason, identifying new prospects to add to our follow lists or players our staff is already familiar with who are on the rise.
All player information including tech metrics, stats, videos, scouting reports and more will be hosted to the Prep Baseball Report website, bolstering the player profile, which is subscribed to by more than 800 colleges across the country.
TENNESSEE CALENDAR
NASHVILLE PRESEASON ID
We’re headed back to Nashville shortly after the new year starts, on January 2nd, to host the Nashville Preseason ID at the Showtime Sports Academy. Our staff held two summer events in Nashville last July, the Nashville Summer ID and the Nashville Junior Future Games Trials, and this winter we’re getting an early look at one of the state’s most populated areas.

PRESEASON ALL-STATE
The lone invite-only event in January that our staff will run is the Preseason All-State showcase - an annual event that allows us to see some of the state's top 2022-to-2025 prospects in one setting. This year's event will take place over a two-day period, on January 16th and January 17th, at Showtime Sports Academy with player's having the ability to choose which one of the two days they wish to attend. Last year's roster was littered with talent throughout, including a handful of eventual PBR Future Gamers and multiple nationally ranked 2024 prospects. Expectations are high for this event and we're ecstatic to see the abundance of talent set to attend in 2022.

WEST TENNESSEE PRESEASON ID
Our staff ran this event last year and we’re eager to check in on players from the western part of the state yet again on January 22nd, this time at FedEx Park on the campus of Memphis University. We ran several events in this part of the state last year, including the West Tennessee Future Games Trials in June and recently held the West Tennessee Fall Open ID in September. RHP Austin Breedlove (McCallie, 2022) is a top-65 prospect in the state’s senior rankings that stood out at this event last year, bumping his fastball up to 85 mph with a 2,300+ RPM slider.

EAST TENNESSEE PRESEASON ID
Capping off the Preseason ID circuit this winter is our East Tennessee Preseason ID, held on January 29th at the BC Athletics Sports Complex. Our staff has become increasingly familiar with this area of the state recently, running four separate events here in 2021, including our prestigious invite-only East Tennessee Preseason All-State showcase. We’re looking forward to getting an early look at the talented crop of prospects East Tennessee has to offer.
