ZANESVILLE - Unsigned senior southpaw Rashaen Mitchell tossed one-hit shutout and was 3-4 at the plate as No. 16 Harrison Central defeated Vincent Warren 3-0 in a Division II regional semifinal game at Gant Municipal Stadium.

Mitchell (9-1) struck out 10, walked four and hit a batter. The lefty threw 117 pitches in the complete game effort, 67 for strikes.

Warren had scored a total of 27 runs in three tournament games prior to Thursday's contest, but Mitchell was able to keep the Warriors' sticks quiet.

The Huskies plated a run in the second, third and fourth innings to take the 3-0 lead.

Down 0-2 in the count, Staten took a Danny Pannell offering off his back to get to first base. Things escalated from there, as Rhett Kuryn drew a four-pitch walk and then Austin Kowalski came through with a single up the middle to bring home Staten for the game's first run.

In the third, Mitchell roped a double just out of reach of Vincent's shortstop Ethan Estes. Nick Pelegreen's groundout to short sent Mitchell to third before Drew Horn drove Mitchell in with an RBI-single through the left side.

Harrison Central struck for one more in the fourth. Leadoff batter Dalton Rutter started things with a walk and went to second on Dustin Redish's sac bunt. Mitchell then collected his third base knock of the game, a bouncing single over the head of Justin Hill at first, to put Harrison Central up 3-0.

Warren righty Pannell (8-3) suffered the loss, going 4 2/3 innings, allowing three runs. Pannell struck out five batters but walked five. Overall he threw 57 strikes and 39 balls for a total of 96 pitches.

Harrison Central advances to face Waverly who defeated West Holmes 3-2.
