Pulaski Academy defeated Watson Chapel 5-3 with a strong pitching performance and a 5 run inning.

Watson Chapel jumped out to a 3 nothing lead scoring 1 in the 1^st and 2 in 2^nd. 2017 MIF Braylen Hence led the game off with a walk, advanced around the bases and scored on a passed ball in the 1^st. In the second, the Wildcats picked up consecutive hits from Andrew Morgan, Joe More, Garrett Dennis, and Griffin Penny to plate 2 more runs. The Bruins shut down the inning by throwing out Dennis at the plate and a strike out to finish the inning.

Pulaski Academy’s pitching staff took over from there on out only allowing 2 more hits the remainder of the contest.

Offensively the Bruins made the most of what they were given scoring 5 runs in the Bottom of the 3^rd.  They scored 5 runs on 4 walks and error and a double. 2107 RHP/INF Will Osmet doubled to drive in the first run. Coach Adam’s team executed their bunt game with success, moving runners over or creating pressure and errors for Watson Chapel.

2017 RHP Will Osmet picked up the win throwing 4 innings, just two earned runs, on 5 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 6. 2018 RHP Jason Smith picked up the save throwing 2 innings surrendering one hit and striking out a hitter.

Watson Chapel was solid on the mound, they just gave out too many free passes. 2018 LHP Jakobi Jackson and 2017 RHP Scott Taylor combined to strike out 14 in 5 2/3 innings of baseball. The game was shortened due to time restrictions.

Watson Chapel will play Thursday at 6:30 vs the No. 3 team out of the East Bracket Thursday at 6:30 PM.

Pulaski Academy will play Wednesday at 4:30 vs Central Arkansas Christian to determine the winner of the South Bracket.
