Updated 2018 Rankings Released

Today the class of PBR Maryland Class of 2018 rankings expand from 150 to 185. There has been a lot of movement in this update as new faces enter the crowd, and many players in the rankings have made their college commitment since our last update. It is important to note, the rankings are a direct result of our boots-on-the-ground approach to scouting. Our rankings consist of players that one of our staff has had the opportunity to see perform.

A new face takes the top spot in the 2018 MD/DE ranks as Cape Henlopen (DE) RHP/OF Austin Elliott (North Carolina) takes the top in the rankings. Elliott has continued to climb in his development and topped that off with good showings across the national circuit. Taking the No. 2 spot is OF/RHP Bryce Greenly (Milford / Virginia). Greenly is growing into his athletic frame turning into an explosive hitting option combined with 6.72 speed.

Taking the No. 3 spot is Zack Gelof (Cape Henlopen / Virginia) Our first Maryland player enters the ranks at No. 4 with one of the hottest names from this summer, Jacob Zebron (NC State) of Colonel Richardson. Zebron still has work to do to clean up the delivery and frame, but a high ceiling in an arm already up to 92 on the mound could mean the righty still has room to climb up the rankings. Rounding out the top 5 is RHP Stephen Pelli (St. Mary's / North Carolina).

Movers in the top ten include Riverdale Baptist star Jose Rivera (Uncommitted who will be enroute to steal the show this upcoming spring after the graduation and drafting of Harold Cortijo. Speaking of Riverdale Baptist, Corey Rosier (East Carolina) finds himself moving into the top ten at the No. 10 spot.

Big climbers in the rankings include Dallas Repine (James M Bennett / Uncommitted) after an impressive showing at the Unsigned Senior Games, Jeremy Lapp-Barger (Century / West Virginia), who is fully growing into the shift to the mound, and Aaron Holiday (Caravel Academy (DE), Old Dominion), another that has made the move from primary position player to the mound.

Close to 35 new faces entered the rankings in this update with plenty of movement shifting across the board. Stay tuned this week as we take a closer look into the rankings update. Enough talk, take a look at the top ten.
