PBR Kentucky Player of The Year: Trinity OF Daylen Lile
July 1, 2021
Prep Baseball Report is excited for the return of Player of the Year Awards, presented by Big League Chew. After the 2020 season was cut short, 2021 generated some incredible individual moments and performances throughout Kentucky. The spring high school season wrapped up in mid-June, and we are excited to announce one player who emerged ahead of the competition at all levels in the state. This player has been selected as the PBR Kentucky Player of the Year not only for his outstanding statistical numbers, but also for his overall effect in his high school program.
Daylen Lile, OF, Trinity HS, 2021
The Louisville signee put together a stellar senior campaign in leading Trinity to the school’s first ever baseball State Championship. Lile put up video-game numbers, posting a .550 batting average with 12 doubles, 12 triples, 18 home runs, and 61 RBIs. He drew 41 walks, was 11-for-11 in stolen bases, and struck out just 6 times the entire season in leading the state champions in nearly every offensive statistical category. His performance only solidified his status as one of the premier high school hitters in the country, and it will be interesting to see how early Lile’s name gets called in July’s MLB draft.
Lile has been selected by the staff of Prep Baseball Report of Kentucky. The team of PBR Kentucky scouts who covered the high school baseball season throughout the spring selected Lile amongst a strong group of candidates from across the state.
Congratulations to Daylen Lile, the PBR Kentucky Player of the Year for the 2021 season.
Louisville baseball commit Daylen Lile catches every bit of this home run to right center field directly into the wind. That extends the Shamrocks lead to 6-0 pic.twitter.com/NbfDYwaTDk

OF Daylen Lile starts us off with a triple. Went with the pitch down and away and drove it over the LF's head.#mlbdraft @prepbaseball pic.twitter.com/aEYrG2DqgB

Lile has been on the barrel all day so it was only a matter of time...got a pitch up and jumped on it, launching one to right-center for a two-run shot. ?#PBRbombsquad @PBRKentucky pic.twitter.com/8SFDWNuVhk

Immediately following the Hodge rbi single @LouisvilleBSB commit Daylen Lile goes opposite field with this towering home run into the left field bleachers as the Rocks are starting to feel it here. The Shamrocks have opened up a 9-1 lead looking for more with one out pic.twitter.com/fVXyDbb8zD
