PBR Junior Future Games Trials Tournament 13U Preview

Tonight we begin the selection process for our 13U Junior Futures team that will represent the State of Arkansas at the Junior Futures Games August 3^rd through the 6^th at Grand Park in Westfield Indiana. We are hosting a 13U tournament at Robinson High School with some of the best teams from around the state, here is a full preview.

Saturday is jam packed due to the impending weather on Sunday and we want to guarantee everyone gets their three games in and a Champion is decided on the field. Below is a preview of each team.

479 Elite

This is a solid group from Northwest Arkansas, with a dynamic offense which will try to swing their way to the finals. Players to watch offensively should be Ethan Fender, Clark Jenkins, Kaleb Keller, and Conor Brady. On the mound they will lean on Lane Carosh and Drue Mclendon as well as Jenkins and Fender. This group is capable of running the table as they finished as this age groups State Champions last summer with the core of the roster returning.

Arkansas Prospects

This is the top team from the Arkansas Prospects organization out of Central Arkansas, one the elite organization in the state, they have a lot of numbers to choose from and crafted a solid athletic line up, with some pitching depth. Offensively look for the dynamic duo of Spencer Pepper and Trevor Flake to lead the way offensively. On the mound look for LHP Cade Altom, RHP Louis Seelinger, RHP Peyton Hill, and Gavin Blaylock to pitch in big spots. A solid group that has the depth to compete for the championship.

SBA Majors

This group is off to a hot start to the spring coming out 18-0 in their first four tournaments including a wins in a 14 AA tournament. This group has a deep pitching staff lead by RHP Tyler Hipps, RHP Colten Simms and RHP Jordan Kelly. All are solid dual threat players with advanced arm strength. Offensively they have combination of speed in power. Players to watch would be Junior Perry, Allan Farrish and Wade Farrish al three are dynamic athletes. Behind the plate Tripp Landers have limited opponents run games, and provides a capable left-handed threat in the lineup. This group definitely has a target on their back as they have been dominate, in the fall and early this spring.

SBA Rebels

A solid group of players that compete at a high level. A ton of success last spring, looking to make some noise this week end as they shake off a slow start to the season. On the mound they have a group that competes in the strike zone consistently. Audreyous Bingham and Blake Carter have the most arm strength. Korbin Singleton and Ben Sneed will add depth to round out the pitching staff. Offensively they have will rely on their ability to hit for power look for their pitchers to provide some help in the lineup as well as Tyler Whitfield.

Sticks Baseball Academy

This group has been coming on of late competing for Championships in a few tournaments already this spring. On the mound they have a tough one two punch with Cade Cartwright and Caleb Bryant, look for these two give them a chance to win. Offensively they have some power threats with Camden Tanner, Bryce Allison and Ethan Yates. Anytime you have two power left-handed bats, which they have in Tanner and Allison, solid pitching, sound defense you will have a chance in any game.

Triple Play Blacksox

The Triple Play Blacksox are 7-0 on this spring, and will work to continue their fast start. They have depth both offensively and on the mound. Some players that look to stand out on the mound should be RHP Ethan Arnold, LHP Jordan Huskey, and RHP Jackson Hutchens. Huskey is one of the top left-handers in the state and will be a tough match up for anyone. Offensively, the pitchers will be supported by Johnathan Anderson, Peyton McKee, and Dakota Goble. Something to watch is the defensively play of Jackson Hutchens as he is one of the premiere defenders in the age group at short stop. The Blacksox are a group that expects to be in the final game of the week end.

Overall this tournament provides a great sample of the talent from Arkansas, with several players competing in this tournament represented Arkansas in the 2016 Junior Futures Games and we are looking forward to watching them compete to earn their roster spot again in 2017.
