McHenry senior right-handed pitcher and first baseman Bobby Miller has been named this week’s PBR Illinois Player of the Week thanks to outstanding performance on the mound and at the plate last week for the Warriors.
Miller, a Louisville recruit, currently ranked No. 5 in the Illinois’ 2017 class, twirled a no-hitter in a 2-0 McHenry win over Dundee-Crown last Tuesday. In the seven innings of work, Miller struck out 10 and walked two. He also went 2-for-4 at the plate to help his cause.
At the plate, the left-handed hitting Miller went 8-for-17 good for a .471 batting average in five games. He also added two homeruns, four RBI, five runs scored and walked three times.
On the season Miller is hitting .387 with three homeruns, eight doubles and 19 RBI. His stat line on the mound is as follows: 5-1 record, 45 IP, 24 H, 6 ER, 70 K, 14 BB and a 0.933 ERA.
Below is video and a scouting report from a start earlier this spring:
For his efforts, Miller has been named the PBR Player of the Week for the week of May 1 - May 6.
Stay tuned for our Weekly Diamond Notes, this Friday, as there were a number of players who narrowly missed out on the Player of the Week award.
