PBR Future Games Preview: OF Jackson Hoang

The Prep Baseball Report Future Games is a one-of-a-kind event featuring the top 2016 prospects from across our 10 state coverage area. This year taking place at Grand Park in Westfield, IN from July 31-August 2, hundreds of scouts from across the country will fill the stands to watch some of the top uncommitted 2016 prospects across our coverage area.

Last year Wisconsin’s Class of 2015 Future Games Team went undefeated and has already seen eight Division 1 commitments from that roster. Only days away we will continue to unveil prospects who have been selected to participate in this year's event with a brief history and bio of the player and what we can expect from him at the PBR Future Games.

Jackson Hoang burst onto the scene and made the Future Games squad with his big bat at the Underclass Trials back in June. Hoang took one of the more impressive rounds of BP we’ve seen out of a rising junior. Hoang’s swing is athletic and loose and launched ball after ball over the left field fence in his BP round. Hoang showed the ability to impact the baseball with authority, his ball travels with carry and backspin and is a gap power hitter.

Defensively Hoang is best suited at a corner outfield spot and his bat will be what carries him to the next level. He runs a 7.15 and has enough athleticism and feel to be an above average corner infielder. Hoang’s BP at the Future Games should be a can’t miss for college coaches and we’ll see if it translates to game action.
