PBR Future Games: Alabama Day 4 Recap

EMERSON, GA - The PBR Future Games wrapped up on Saturday with all teams playing their third and final game against other various states. In front of hundreds of college recruiters looking for prospects at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA, Team Alabama dropped their final game of the week to Team Mississippi by score of 5-1. Pitcher-only's threw two innings each in a seven-inning contest and showcased some intriguing stuff in the process. Two-way players will throw an inning each on their scheduled day to pitch.
It was another enjoyable week with some of the top uncommitted 2024's and 2025's in the state going 2-1 facing some quality competition. Before we close the book on the 2022 PBR Future Games, let's take a look back at some of the standout from Team Alabama yesterday.

Brodie Dunlap RHP / Corner , AL / 2024Dunlap worked two really clean and efficient innings in his start for Team Alabama and showed an intriguing arsenal of pitches in the process. Listed at 6-foot-4, 225-pounds, hammered the zone with his fastball that was up to 90 mph while sitting mostly 86-88 mph throughout. Working off the heater, the physically-imposing right-hander used a SL/CH/CT trio of secondary pitches. The slider showed tight spin and showed some depth in the upper-70's, and landed both the changeup and cutter for strikes needing just 29 pitches to work two scoreless innings and rack up two strikeouts and zero walks.

Matthew Cash MIF / Bibb County , AL / 2024A two-time PBR Jr. Future Games attendee a few years ago, Cash was one of Team Alabama's most consistent performers throughout the week with multiple hits in gameplay. Listed at 6-foot-0, 195-pounds, Cash has really filled out his frame with more strength proportionally, and showed the ability to handle all types of arms this week. Using a wider base and a simple load from the left side, Cash is always down on time and uses minimal pre-pitch movements with a short and direct path to contact to find firm contact consistently. Stays short throughout the swing with quickness to the hands.
