PBR Arkansas: Spring/Summer Schedule
January 10, 2017
By: Zac Bottoms
Arkansas Scouting Director
We are excited to announce our full spring and summer slate. We continue to expand our coverage of Arkansas baseball at the high school level and now are getting involved in the youth baseball.
As of now we have scheduled 3 high school tournaments, we are excited to move into these events. All games in our tournaments will be scouted by PBR Arkansas Staff, with updates to players profiles, and PBR Arkansas Scout Blogs. We will also be posting video from the tournaments on social media during the tournaments. From the PBR Futures Games Trials, PBR Arkansas and PBR Louisana will select a combination team of 20 of the top uncommitted underclassmen, to compete at the Futures Games in Indianapolis, IN. Last year Arkansas was represented by 2018 LHP Kaleb Hill ( Ole Miss Commit) and 2018 C Andrew Stanley ( Arkansas Commit), both player made college commitments after competing in the top underclass event in the country.
Our Showcase schedule is complete, highlighted events are the Top Prospects Games and Underclass Games. Both events are invite only. Top Prospects Games consist of the Top 88 players from Arkansas, and will consist on players from the 2018, 2019, 2020 classes. The Underclass Games will feature 100 players from the classes of 2019, 2020, and 2021. Players will be evaluated throughout the spring by our staff.
Our youth schedule will be three tournaments hosted at Junior Deputy Ball Park, in Little Rock Arkansas. These events will be used to identify the top talent in each age group. We will select 12 players from the age groups of 9-14 to compete in the Junior Futures Games in Indianpolis, IN in early August. Last year we sent 5 teams to this event and participants had a great time competing against the some of the best players in the mid west. Our staff will be more hands on during the selection process, we would like to not only have a good time but be very competitive. We are willing to expand our youth tournament operation to allow more kids the opportunity to gain exposure and earn their way to Indianapolis. If any youth organizations or facilities are interested please contact me at [email protected].
