Ontario Spotlight Game: Toronto Mets 16U (Orange) vs Fieldhouse Pirates 16U 

Toronto – First game of the CPBL season for both the Mets and the Pirates. It was originally scheduled as a doubleheader, but unfortunately poor weather caused a late start, forcing them to cancel the second game.

It was a back and forth game that featured six of the top 25 players in the 2019 graduating class. In the end, the Mets prevailed 11-10 on Tyler Offman’s one out, two-run walk-off single in the bottom of the 7th.

Keegan Pullford-Thorpe, one of the top pitchers in the 2019 class, started the game for the Mets pitching three innings, with six strikeouts, five walks, one hit batter and no earned runs.

Offensively, the Mets got their day started thanks to a 2-run opposite field home run by catcher Ryan Leitch, ranked #7 in the 2019 class. Leitch also drove in two more runs in the fifth with a double to straight away center field.

In addition to his game winning hit, Offman picked up an RBI with a single in the fifth, giving him 3 RBIs on the night.

For the Pirates, they were lead on offense by their catcher N. Polesky who hit two loud doubles, including one to the opposite field while also driving in a run. Josh Hare hit a 2-run double in the 3rd inning, followed by B. Ramey hitting a two-run double of his own two batters later.

• Ryan Leitch: 2-4 at the plate with a HR, Double and 4 RBI.
• Tyler Offman: 3-4, 2 singles and a double, 3 RBI.
• N. Polesky: 2-3, 2 R, 2 Doubles, RBI
