The talent on hand over the two days at Prasco Park outside of Cincinnati for the Ohio Top Prospect Games was too much to be squeezed into a single feature of, On the Hunt, so be on the lookout for much more from the event in the future. With around 200 players showcasing their talents over the two day period, the throngs of college coaches in attendance we treated to a buffet of possible players that would play for their programs. In this edition of, On the Hunt, some of the pitchers from the 2018 & 2019 classes who threw well or exhibited projectable stuff are featured. Two high end left-handers in the 2019 class are featured as well as athletic right-handers, and big-framed workhorse types.

Jonathan Machamer LHP / 1B / Massilon Washington, OH / 2019

Machamer sat 85-86 with his fastball while throwing, slightly, over his front shoulder with his fastball. His aggressive actions in his delivery made for uncomfortable at-bats for the batters that stepped in. He throws out of a near ¾ slot with quicker hand speed, and features a sturdy, 6-foot-4, 220-pound frame. His breaking ball sweeps across the plate at 74-75, and he flashes feel for a changeup at 79. Machamer also showed off some athleticism by bouncing off the mound on a swinging bunt to make a very nice play. Though he just falls down the mound currently, Machamer still has room to find even more use of his legs which should allow for his velocity to continue to rise. High level prospect who most, if not all, schools will want to monitor closely throughout the summer.
