Scouting Report
6/6/17
A right-handed pitching prospect in the 2018 class. Delivery is fluid and requires some effort. Arm has some whip to it as it moves through near high-¾ slot with obvious arm speed. Fastball sat 84-89 mph with noticeable arm side run. Spins an 11/5 shaped breaking ball at 70-71 mph. The offering has good spin to it as it drops of the table with depth.
2/18/17
A definite arm to follow in the 2018 class. Souder has an uptempo delivery that requires some effort. His slinging arm action put heavy run and sink on his 83-87 mph fastball. Changeup has similar run and sink, while maintaining arm speed. Has decent feel for the 77-78 mph offering. Spins a 10/4 shaped breaking ball that is tight with depth at 72-76 mph.
5/31/16
6-foot-3, 200-pound projectable, strong build. On the mound he works exclusively from the stretch. Showed smooth tempo to a delivery he is able to repeat. Some effort to his delivery. Has long arm action with average armspeed at this stage. Working through a high-3/4 slot his fastball sat 78-81 mph. Spins an 11/5 breaking ball that has signs of sharpness and decent depth to it at 69-70 mph. Also showed feel for a 71-72 mph changeup while maintaining fastball armspeed.
