With the 2019 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting in January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2019 Spring Team Preview: Oberlin Firelands Falcons

Returning Starters/Pitchers: 8/8

2019 Team Strengths:

Coach Outlook: "We expect to compete for a league championship & have a deep tournament run. In Sectional/District we will see tough competition from Bay, Buckeye, Clearview, Padua, Holy Name, Rocky River who all have made District appearances over the last 4 years.  Keystone is ALWAYS a tough out & with the addition of Elyria Catholic you can not afford to have an off night at the wrong time!"

Top Returning Players:

  • Sr-Alex Brill (Video), Ohio Dominican recruit, 4 year starter, 1st team all state as a jr.  Led the team in batting ave, HR, stolen bases.  Versatile player, can play anywhere on the field.  
  • Sr-Austin Urban, Marietta recruit, SS/P, 4 year starter will be heavily relied upon on the mound and at the plate.
  • Sr-Riley Bayus returns at 2B
  • Sr-Jake Newman returns as a relief P
  • Sr-Adam Lacy
