OK Sandlot All-American Scout Day Upgrades: 2021 OF Analysis

Prep Baseball Report Oklahoma teamed up with Sandlot All-American baseball for the second annual Scout Day Upgrade on May 19th-20th at Broken Arrow HS in Tulsa and Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond. Nearly 60 players from 2021-2018 class participated in the PBR upgrade. Each player participated in a pro style showcase to show their skills and record measurables in front the PBR staff.
Though many of the players covered below are talented two way players, they will be covered as outfielders today with pitchers analysis already on profiles.

Grayson Adams LHP / OF / Bethany, OK / 2021A 6-foot-2, 154-pound long and projectable frame. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from an open and relaxed set-up with some rhythm throughout. Uses a moderate stride and hand load before sending his hands on a flat path through extension. In BP, shows a middle of the field and flat approach with some barrels, 80 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.26 second 60. Defensively, shows deliberate and clean actions. Throws with a long and fluid arm stroke coming through a near over the top slot, 80 mph from the outfield. |
Mason Conway LHP / 1B / Deer Creek, OK / 2021A physically advanced 6-foot-2, 170-pound frame. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from an even and back leg heavy set-up with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a moderate leg kick before launching his hands on a flat path through extension, hitting from his front foot. In BP, shows a pull approach with consistent lift and mostly barrels, 84 mph exit velo. Runs an 8.19 second 60. Defensively, from first base, 68 mph from the outfield. |
Chance Cox LHP / OF / Mustang , OK / 2021A 6-foot, 165-pound advanced frame with room to add size and strength. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from a quiet, open, upright, and relaxed set-up. Uses a moderate leg kick before launching his hands on a flat path to contact with a high finish. In BP, shows a pull approach with some lift and advanced bat speed, almost all barrels, 85 mph exit velo. Runs a 6.79 second 60. Defensively, in the outfield, shows confident, clean, and athletic actions, chops his feet well. Throws with a long and fluid arm stroke coming through an over the top slot with elite arm strength, 89 mph from the outfield. |
Larry Edwards OF / Metro Christian Academy, OK / 2021A 5-foot-10, 155-pound frame that has started to develop quickly, with lots of room to continue to add size and strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a back leg heavy, knee-knocked set-up with slight rhythm throughout. Uses a slight leg kick and hand load before launching his hands on an uphill path with advanced bat speed. In BP, shows an opposite field and flat approach, finding almost all barrels, 85 mph exit velo. Runs a 6.9 second 60. Defensively, shows clean, confident, and athletic actions. Throws with a moderate arm stroke, coming through an over the top slot, 72 mph from the outfield. |
Brylen Janda RHP / OF / Byng, OK / 2021A 6-foot-3, 156-pound long frame with plenty of room to add size and strength. The right-handed hitter bats from narrow and back leg heavy set-up with slight rhythm in his hands. Uses a moderate leg kick before launching his hands on a slightly uphill plane. In BP, shows a pull approach with lift, some barrels, 79 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.72 second 60. Defensively, in the outfield, shows clean and deliberate actions with a long arm stroke coming through an over the top slot at 83 mph from the outfield. |
Tanner Hood OF / C / Red Oak, OK / 2021A 5-foot-9, 150-pound lean and athletic frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a slightly front foot heavy and athletic set-up with some rhythm throughout. Uses a smooth load, short stride, and late heel plant before sending his hands on a flat path through extension. In BP, shows a pull approach, mostly flat with some lift, some barrels early finding his timing late, 84 mph exit velo. Runs a 6.89 second 60. Defensively, in the outfield, charges the ball very well with clean and confident footwork and hands. Throws from a short arm stroke through and over the top slot with hand speed, 80 mph from the outfield. Also shows clean and athletic actions behind the dish. |
Rhett Walker LHP / OF / Sequoyah, OK / 2021A 5-foot-10, 155-pound developing frame with plenty of room to add size and strength. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from a quiet, even, and back leg heavy set-up. Uses a short stride before sending his hands on a flat path through extension. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field and mostly flat approach, some barrels, 72 mph exit velo. Runs a 6.9 second 60. Defensively, shows aggressive actions, using a step behind instead of a crow hop. Throws with a long arm stroke, coming through a low ¾ slot, 67 mph from the outfield. |
