Prep Baseball Report Oklahoma hosted the OK Future Games Trials at Oklahoma State University  on Sunday, August 20th. This event hosted 35 players in the 2020 and 2021 grad classes for a pro showcase followed by games. The Oklahoma State and the PBR staff were on hand to scout and evaluate the talented group. College recruiters will have a list of new names for their ScoutPlus subscription, as many talented played players showed their skills.

All of the video, stats, and pictures from the event have been posted on each individual player's profiles. We will start the in-depth analysis of the event today with a look at the catchers and corner infielders. Though all of the athletes today are two-way players, they will be cover here only as position players. Each player's full profile can be viewed by clicking on their picture. All exit velos taken from a tee. All at bats started with a 1-1 count.

Catcher

Third Basemen

Maddux Byers 3B / C / Putnam City West, OK / 2021 A 5-foot-10, 145-pound frame with room to add size and strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a slightly open stance with rhythm throughout. Uses a smooth rocking load and a flat  bat path through finish, rolling his hands over early at times. In BP, shows a an all fields approach, found a few barrels, 60 mph exit velo.Runs a 5.22 home-to-first. Defensively, shows aggressive actions on the infield, arm is loose and accurate from a 3/4 slot, 71 mph across the diamond. In the game, Byers went 0-for-3.

Carson Hunt RHP / 3B / Dale, OK / 2021 A physically advanced 6-foot,190-pound frame with some strength throughout. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from a slightly wide and back leg heavy set-up with some rhythm in his hands.Uses a reverse toe-tap and arm bar load for timing, path is uphill and has some length. In BP, shows a pull approach with lift, found some barrels, shows advanced strength and bat speed, 87 mph exit velo. Runs a 4.57 home-to-first. Defensively,  shows clean and deliberate actions with soft and consistent hands, makes the slow roller play with athleticism, throws from a high-3/4 slot with accuracy and advanced arm strength, 79 mph. In the game, went 1-for-3 with a two RBI double.

Brooks Miller 3B / RHP / Pryor , OK / 2021 A 5-foot-9, 170-pound frame with some strength throughout. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a back leg heavy wide base with rhythm in his hands. Uses a moderate lift and replace leg kick, and a slight arm-bar load for timing. In BP, shows a middle-to-pull flat approach with good bat speed and hand strength especially for his age, a flath path through extension, and some length. Found mostly barrels, 84 mph exit velo. Runs a 4.83 home-to-first. Defensively, shows aggressive actions, consistent hands, athletic on the slow roller play, and an accurate arm from a 3/4 slot, 73 mph. In the game, went 1-for-2 with a single.

First Baseman

Conley Rae 1B / LHP / Owasso, OK / 2020 A physically impressive 6-foot-5, 215-pound frame with some strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a  quiet and slightly open, knock-kneed set-up. Uses a moderate leg lift and small hand-pump load for timing before striding across his body, slightly uphill path with some length. In BP, shows a middle to pull-gap approach with occasional lift, mostly barrels, 83 mph exit velo. Runs a 5.15 Defensively, shows some athleticism around first base, throws are accurate using a quick release from a 3/4 slot, 64 mph. In the game, went 0-for-2 drawing two walks.

Will Taylor LHP / 1B / Kingfisher, OK / 2021 An advanced 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame with plenty of room to add size and strength. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from a narrow and upright stance with high-set hands. Uses a smooth and big knee-knock leg kick for timing, is short to the ball with loose and quick hands. In BP, shows a middle to pull approach with occasional lift, some barrels, 85 mph exit velo. Runs a 4.64 home-to-first. Defensively, shows quick and confident actions around first base with accurate throws from a low-3/4 slot and a quick release, 59 mph.

Daniel Williams 1B / OF / Destiny Christian, OK / 2020 A 5-foot-9, 200-pound frame with some strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a slightly open and wide set-up with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a small reverse toe-tap load for timing, bat path is slightly uphill with good extension. In BP, shows a pull gap approach with lift, took some swings to find his timing and then found mostly barrels, 79 mph exit velo. Runs a 5.44 home-to-first.  Defensively, shows deliberate actions at first base, throws from a high 3/4 slot, 57 mph with some accuracy.
