Fort Wayne Northrop was led by the 3-3 offensive performance of 6-foot-3, 185 pound 2016 SS Mike Snyder and the arm of Ohio Dominican University recruit Joey Filosa. Filosa pitched 5 strong innings giving up three earned runs while sitting 80-86 with his fastball. Ball State recruit Colin Brockhouse returned to action after Tommy John surgery last summer and hit a two run home run in the 6th inning.
New Haven sophomore Owen Doster returned to varsity action after breaking his ankle during the Wrestling season and went 1-1 in a pinch hit role.
Northrop started seven seniors and is favored to win the SAC Conference. Northrop and Fort Wayne Carroll are two of the deepest teams in northeast Indiana and will match up on April 8th at Northrop.
