LATHROP, CA. - The inaugural Northern California ProCase Preview had 35 players taking part in the showcase where players were put through traditional showcase workout that included the 60-yard sprint, two rounds of batting practice (some used wood only, some used wood in one round and BBCOR in the other), defensive workouts at respective positions (multiple spots for a few players), and concluded with main diamond mound bullpen sessions where the pitchers' stats were compiled.
Note: All showcase videos have been added to player profiles. We will post reports by position this week (catchers, corner INFs, outfielders, RHPs). The players listed here are ordered by their max throwing velocity.

Joseph Cardinale, Palma (CA), 2022
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-11, 178-pounds. Athletic build, strength through his core.
Hit: RHH. Tall, open, on plate, starts w/low hands off chest, deeper load as engages a smooth low lift stride. Tight swing, controls barrel, flat plane with power to split gaps; 16.6 max rotational acceleration, 72% on plane efficiency, 64.7% LDs.
Power: 93 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. 21.7 max hand speed, 70.6 max bat speed (67.1 avg).
Arm: RH. INF - 90 mph. Big raw arm, tracks true across diamond, some length in arm stroke, fair release time.
Defense: Looks to have sure hands, patterns/chops feet quite a bit on way to set up, quick release on backhand side, smooth across the middle.
Run: 7.25 runner in the 60.
Brandon Forrester, Jesuit (CA), 2022 - Oregon State commit
Positional Profile: SS/P
Body: 5-9, 145-pounds. Lean with wiry strength, streamlined.
Hit: SH. LHH - Wide feet, off plate, pinched knees in slight crouch, weight shift over backside, minimal stride, barrel over shoulder, small quiet load, flat & occasionally steep plane, line drive approach; RHH - Very similar set up, feet a bit wider then taking slightly more stride, bat starts and fires from same position while having same small quiet hand load. More physical on RH side, more aggressive attack angle. 18.8 max rotational acceleration (15.26 avg), 87% on plane efficiency.
Power: 90 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. 21.3 max hand speed, 66.1 max bat speed, combines both LHH & RHH swings.
Arm: RH. INF - 86 mph. Compact arm stroke, can change arm angles, enough to go into hole, can quick snap throw and not lose much velo.
Defense: Handsy fielder, confident, athletic feet, plays below ball while creating outstanding angles to efficiently get the throw underway, quick release, range and feel to play the position beyond HS.
Run: 6.75 runner in the 60.
Mikey Bell, San Joaquin Memorial (CA), 2022
Positional Profile: SS/3B
Body: 6-2, 192-pounds. Long lean strength, lower body showing strength.
Hit: RHH. Tall, very slight crouch, medium width feet, hands above shoulder, slightly open, shallow load to lower slot, small lift into stride. Maintains balance, controlled barrel, works inside, direct to ball, high two hand finish, flashed pull side power; 19.3 max rotational acceleration (15.65 avg), 54% on plane efficiency.
Power: 92 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. 21 max hand speed (19.37 avg), 78 max bat speed (67.61 avg).
Arm: RH. INF - 85 mph. Compact arm action, when feet under him the throws tracked with carry, enough arm to throw on move or from hole, consistently higher slot on all throws.
Defense: Soft hands, smooth and efficient actions to ball, sets up with good angles to field and throw.
Run: 7.09 runner in the 60.
Jonas Salk, Sir Francis Drake (CA), 2022 - Portland commit
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-9, 170-pounds. Compact athletic build with present strength.
Hit: RHH. Wide feet, tall, square stance, hands off chest then stretches them to a deep load and lower slot, reverse toe tap into gliding stride. Aggressive attack angle tailored to lift the ball, some barrel inconsistency though impactful contact when squred up; 22 max rotational acceleration (17.83 avg), 59% on plane efficiency, 60% fly balls.
Power: 95 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. 24.7 max hand speed (22.44 avg), 86.5 max bat speed (73.46 avg).
Arm: RH. INF - 85 mph. Compact quick arm, quick release, accurate with easy delivery and carry on throws, maintained higher slot on each throw.
Defense: Smooth and measured in approach, smooth funnel, soft hands, confident glove skills, sets up in line with energy toward 1st base, plays low to and through.
Run: 7.15 runner in the 60.
Jared Mettam, Half Moon Bay (CA), 2022 - Washington commit
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-11, 182-pounds. Lanky athletic body type, projectable frame, muscular through upper legs.
Hit: RHH. Medium width feet, square stance, crouched, high hands start from pre load position and fire from there. Works inside, maintains balance, swing is adjustable to different pitch locations, loose hands, whips barrel with ease; 64% on plane efficiency, 12.8 max rotational acceleration, 76.5% fly balls.
Power: 93 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. 22 max hand speed, 72.9 max bat speed (66.21 avg).
Arm: RH. INF - 82 mph. Quick release, multiple arm angles as needed, easy arm produces carry on throws, release allows raw arm to play up.
Defense: Confident smooth fielder, efficient and technically sound set-up, plays low to and throw, feet are in position to get off quick throws with no wasted steps, soft hands, creative fielder with feel for the position.
Run: 7.02 runner in the 60.
Myles Terrell, Inderkum (CA), 2022 - Southern commit
Positional Profile: 2B/SS
Body: 5-7, 160-pounds. Compact build, well-proportioned.
Hit: RHH. Medium width feet, tucked back knee, slight pinched feet, barrel relaxed over shoulder, calm small load, small stride. Efficient smooth stroke, displays barrel control while creating life in the swing, balanced throughout, aggressive attack angle, fly ball approach; 18.5 max rotational acceleration (13.2 avg), 78% on plane efficiency, 87.6% LDs/fly balls.
Power: 88 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. 66.5 max bat speed.
Arm: RH. INF - 81 mph. Short arm stroke, flashed multiple arm angles, inconsistent accuracy and carry from SS position.
Defense: Soft sure hands, quick feet, plays well on move, there is an extra footstep on longer throws, plays ball confidently, plays low in set up.
Run: 6.95 runner in the 60.
Anthony Bianchina, De La Salle (CA), 2022
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-8, 155-pounds. Compact athletic build.
Hit: SH. LHH - Wide feet, square stance, off plate, reverse stride getting him over back side before getting to longer stride, small hand load to higher slot. RHH - Medium width feet, tall set, quiet hands, small load, minimal stride. Shoots ball to all fields on LH side, handsy/wristy stroke w/contact oriented approach. Gap gap RH stroke with ability to line ball to and through gaps; 16.8 max rotational acceleration (14.6 avg), 63% on plane efficiency, 53.3% LDs.
Power: 90 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. 70.5 max bat speed (63.23 avg), numbers combined both LHH & RHH side.
Arm: RH. INF - 81 mph. 3/4 release, sling type arm action which suits him well when on the move, fair carry with a bit of tailing action, accurate arm.
Defense: Confident and sure hands, quick feet, displayed ability to speed up release when need be.
Jack Metcho, Rodriguez (CA), 2022
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-11, 160-pounds. Lean wiry athletic build.
Hit: RHH. Taller set up w/slight pinch of knees, medium width feet, hands start high, smooth slight knee lift into controlled stride, hands work in rhythm with feet, small load into slightly lower slot. Displayed bat control, throws barrel through contact, drifts a bit into contact point, some length occasionally creeps in, strength gains will greatly enhance the impact ability, can hit multiple locations; 51% on plane efficiency, 70.6% LDs/fly balls.
Power: 86 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. 65.8 max bat speed.
Arm: RH. INF - 81 mph. Loose arm, quick release, can throw with multiple arm angles, accurate, calm easy throws, have seen bigger velo number before.
Defense: Plays with feel, soft hands, efficient feet, covers ground, sets up in position to get off consistently accurate throws, substance over flash.
Run: 7.79 runner in the 60.
Casey Threats III, Pittsburg (CA), 2022 - Grambling State commit
Positional Profile: 2B/SS
Body: 5-10, 180-pounds. Lean and strong w/development through the core.
Hit: RHH. Slightly open, back knee pinched/tucked, into his legs early, relaxed arms, hands start high before dropping down to lower slot as he loads, medium stride. Whippy loose swing, hits from ground up, can spray with some ability to drive the ball, explodes core at contact, tends to tip his head a bit when delivering barrel; 19.2 max rotational acceleration (15.68 avg), 66% on plane efficiency, 60% LDs.
Power: 86 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. 70.5 max bat speed.
Arm: RH. INF - 78 mph. Shorter stroke, can get to side arm release when on move, gets under throws a bit when accelerating the arm.
Defense: Starts low and plays low to and through the ball, quick feet, creative in getting to different arm angles, plays on move well, sure hands.
Run: 6.94 runner in the 60.
Cole Fellows, Clovis North (CA), 2022 - Columbia commit
Positional Profile: 2B/OF
Body: 6-1, 190-pounds. Present strength on streamlined athletic body type.
Hit: LHH. Wide feet, bent knees, very slightly open, starts with right heel raised, stretches into deep load while getting out to longer stride after small knee lift. Creates ample barrel speed, whippy lively stroke, creates power from lower half, middle-in approach, showed fly ball power on pull side; 13.4 max rotational acceleration, 71% on plane efficiency, 68.4% fly balls.
Power: 95 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. 23.5 max hand speed (22 avg), 74.7 max bat speed (67.28 avg).
Arm: RH. INF - 78 mph. OF - 82 mph. Loose quick INF arm, some length and depth on backside, inconsistent accuracy with fair carry. OF arm stroke similar with depth on backside, gets to a high slot, accurate one hop throws.
Defense: Bouncy INF feet, chops feet a bit in approach, smaller strides, hands work, similar in approach in the OF, able to adjust to tough hops.
Run: 6.95 runner in the 60.
Zach Lewis, Pacific Grove (CA), 2022
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-8, 180-pounds. Compact body type, stout proportions.
Hit: RHH. Taller set w/very slight knee bend, squared feet, hands start in pre-loaded slot, small quiet load, modest knee lift to small stride. Maintains balance, uses hands well, works inside, short swing, pull side approach, high two hand finish with strong top hand; 17.3 max rotational acceleration, 74% on plane efficiency, 33.3% LDs, 50% fly balls.
Power: 91 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. 20.5 max hand speed, 71.6 max bat speed (64.86 avg).
Arm: RH. INF - 78 mph. Compact arm stroke, easy release, can throw on move and maintain accuracy, fair raw arm with playable release.
Defense: Confident actions, light feet, gets wide and low, plays ball in rhythm, keeps hands off his body, sets up well to get off throws, can make creative plays.
Run: 7.49 runner in the 60.
