No. 24 Saegertown Rallies to Defeat Titusville

It was billed as a dual between Titusville pitcher Adam Bleday, who came in with a 0.36ERA and the vaunted Saegertown offensive attack.  In the end it was Sagertown's offense that won out.

Bleday was strong early popping the glove at 88MPH in the first two innings. Titusville scored first in the bottom of the first inning on a Jayce Corklin single to right field that plated Robbie Snyder.  Saegertown still managed to tie the game in the top of the second inning on a Stephen Sada infield single with two outs.

Titusville pushed its lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the third with Bleday's double to deep right field being the key hit. It appeared that Titusville had Saegertown in trouble, but a combination of Saegertown's offense and Luke Carter's relief effort on the mound turned the tide in a hurry.

Saegertown (22-1) batted around in the top of the fifth inning, scoring six runs and ended Bleday's day on the hill. Carter, who came on in relief of Panther starter Ryan Paden in the third inning, was masterful.  After yielding a hit to Ethan Rapp that drove home two and pushed Titusville's lead from 2-1 to 4-1, in the bottom of the third inning, Carter was never threatened again. Throwing an assortment of fastballs and breaking balls from several arm angles, the junior right hander set Titusville down in order in the sixth and seventh innings to lock up the second consecutive District 10 AA Championship for Saegertown.

The Panthers will advance to the 1st round of the PIAA playoffs next week with the win. Their opponent and the location of the game will be determined at a later date.
