OSWEGO, IL - Wednesday’s Southwest Prairie Conference matchup of Oswego at Oswego East was exactly what you’d expect from a pair of crosstown foes having up year’s. Oswego East, ranked No. 19 in the PBR Power 25 is now 22-3, after taking the 5-4 win, well on their way to the program’s first winning season in it’s ten year existence.

The East Wolves faced an uphill battle as Oswego Panthers scratched runs twice in the early innings. Ben Graue got the Panthers on the board in the second driving in a run on a sac fly to center. Gabe Panza would add another run in the third on an RBI double to give Oswego an early 2-0 lead.

Oswego East clawed back and tied things up in the fourth. Sending seven batters to the plate in the inning, senior Jake Stock delivered a clutch two-out, bases loaded single driving in two and knotting the game at 2-2.

Wolves senior outfielder, Dylan Jones gave Oswego East the lead for good in the fifth, ripping a bases loaded RBI single right back up the box. A two out error gave the Wolves a 5-2 lead heading to the sixth.

Oswego had their chance in the sixth after pushing two across. Then a squeeze attempt with the tying run at third was snuffed out by Daniel Nelson who came on in relief of Oswego East starter Mason Madalinski.
