TRANSFERS
2014 third baseman Tyler Gullet is transferring from St. Edwards to Keystone High School, his home public school. Gullet is one of the top infield prospects in his class with a 6.9 60-yard dash, good hands and arm strength from across the infield, and a power bat.
2015 right-handed pitcher Joe Vranesic is transferring from Northmont to Moeller. Vranesic is a low to mid 80's arm. The strong, athletic prospect shows the athleticism to play the outfield as well.
Earlier in the year, a pair of 2015 prospects, first baseman JJ Johnson and infielder/catcher Ronnie Murphy, transferred from Moeller to Lakota West. Both figure to compete for varsity time at Lakota West this year. They both stood out at the 2012 Underclass Games at OSU.
RECENT COMMITMENTS
Westerville South 2013 right-handed pitcher Jeremy Wei committed to Lake Erie College. Wei’s stock went up this fall and winter after several appearances at PBR events. In his last appearance, the 6-foot-6, 205-pounder showed an 84-86 mph fastball. He had strong interest and offers from DI and DII programs.
Lincoln West 2013 outfielder Carlos Ortiz committed to Sinclair CC. He is the 21st ranked prospect in his class and becomes the center-piece of a very talented Tartan 2013 recruiting class. The left-handed hitting outfielder has one of the top swings in the state and an upper 80’s arm from the outfield.
Miamisburg 2013 right-handed pitcher Justin Clark committed to Rend Lake JUCO (IL) joining Maderia’s Zach Jansen as two Ohioans heading west. He put his name on the radar after an appearance at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Open ID where he showed an 85-88 mph fastball.
Walsh Jesuit 2013 left-handed pitcher Joe Mockbee committed to the University of Cincinnati. Mockbee sat in the low 80’s at a PBR in the early winter. The big, lanky southpaw offers plenty of projectability for the future.
Tippecanoe 2013 left-handed pitcher Steven Calhoun committed to the University of Toledo. Calhoun, a 6-foot-7, 210-pound southpaw, sat in the low to mid 80’s at a PBR event in the early winter and continued to pick up interest from several schools.
