Neil Devlin from the Colorado Dugout: Interview with Oregon Commit 2019 RHP/1B Clayton Burke of Mountain Vista
March 7, 2018
There is a lot going on for Clayton Burke.
He’s a junior at public Mountain Vista in Highlands Ranch after spending his first two prep years at private Mullen in southwest Denver. As a result, he’ll have to sit out half of the regular season to keep in line with state rules for what is considered a sports transfer. He’s also getting used to new teammates and a coaching staff.
Plus, his father is John Burke, the former Cherry Creek High and University of Florida pitcher who also was the Colorado Rockies first-ever amateur draft choice. He went No. 27 in 1992.
The right-handed pitcher, 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, also has committed to Oregon’s Ducks.
