Nebraska Commitment Spotlight: Laif Hultine from Hastings
August 15, 2019
PBR Nebraska strives to be the most comprehensive source of player information across the state. The Prep Baseball Report is the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in each state we cover through our variety of events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state. While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

PBR: Why did you choose Missouri Southern?
I chose southern because it felt like a place where I can not only grow and prosper as a student and player, but I will be able to make an impact right away.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
I was considering Missouri Western, Cloud County CC, Pittsburgh State, and Nebraska Wesleyan.
PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you?
The coaching staff had heard about me through other scouts and then checked PBR. After seeing my video I was invited for a visit then offered.
PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
The deciding factor was the opportunity to compete at one of the most competitive D2 colleges in the nation and be able to make an impact upon arrival. I have also heard nothing but amazing reviews about the coach.
PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
I would say my parents for being the largest support system followed by my high school coaches and Andrew Kuta for putting in all the extra hours for me as a pitcher
PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
MSSU has plans of me making an impact immediately and working into the starting rotation.
PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
I would say my most memorable moment is my first ever career home run being hit at the state tournament after transferring to Hastings High School.
PBR: Who is the best player you have competed against?
Trey Frahm
