Nashville defeated Shiloh Christian 4-1 to win the 4A State Champion. Shiloh was the 2016 and the preseason favorite to repeat. The Saints had a great season, but ran into the hottest team in the state, with the Nashville Scrappers. Nashville finished the season 30-7, winners of 23 of their last 24 games.
On the road to Baum stadium they defeated Lonoke 4-2 and Monticello 4-3, to advance. In the championship, they continued the trend of using 2018 RHP Tyler Hanson and 2017 RHP/MIF Zach Jamison to navigate through the talented Shiloh line up.
The showed the ability to defend at an elevated level turning double plays, and cutting runners down at home from the outfield.
Overall 2017 MIF/RHP Zach Jamison and 2018 MIF Chris Willard stood out on both sides of the field. Jamison had two hits on the day from the leadoff spot to spark the offense. Willard showed plus defensive ability and a solid line drive swing, and advanced line drive swing.
For Shiloh Christian 2018 RHP Landon Brown and 2018 RHP/MIF Connor Clark showed advanced arm strength and a feel to pitch, the offense just could not muster enough run support to help them repeat as 4A champions.
