2023 grads
Hudson Massie C / 3B / Battle Ground, WA / 20235-foot-10, 150 pounds with a lean frame and proportional build. Sets up with a wide, slightly open stance and slight bend in his waist. Shows a subtle weight shift onto his back-side as he takes forward stride. Hands stay at shoulder height and use a quick load to create stretch against his frontside. Tight, compact swing with noticeable strength in the wrists. Stays connected and controls barrel throughout. Defensively, displayed solid mobility in his lower half with a low set-up behind the dish. Hips sink below knees while chest stays upright. Slight ankle shift as he gets glove hand to the ball. Simple, repeatable actions as he gets out of crouch and into throwing motion. Hips align with target and front side stays closed as stride foot gets down. Short, clean arm action with a ¾ release. Stays behind the ball well, showing plenty of carry thru the base on his throws. |
Evan McGuire 3B / SS / Union, WA / 2023Long, high-waisted frame at 6-foot, approx 150 pounds. Has length in upper half with a square build. Sets feet in a wide stance, narrowly open to pitcher. Slight knee bend while keeping tall, upright posture. Hands stay below back shoulder in a relaxed position with subtle movement. Shifts weight back with a low leg lift before gaining ground on his forward move. Hands show a subtle, controlled load before initiating swing. Clean, level swing with a flat path thru contact. Keeps hands tight to body & allows barrel to stay inside of the ball. Defensively, did a solid job of working to get around the ball at 3b. Slight move to his arm side after contact allows him to come thru the ball with momentum as opposed to being flat footed. Funnels ball in from a wide base with chest directly over the ball. Whippy arm action with a ¾ release. Throws flashed consistent accuracy on this look. |
Dylan Osborne LHP / Union, WA / 20235-foot-11, 155 pounds with a lean build and athletic frame. Sets up in an open stance with feet just outside of shoulder width. Hands start above shoulder height while away from body. Low leg lift syncs up with load from upper half as he gets into a balanced landing. Fluid, easy swing with loose barrel action thru the zone. Creates easy bat speed with minimal effort. High finish thru contact with lift. Defensively, moves well in the OF with actions that project well for long-term development. Footwork shows consistent rhythm with tempo thru the ball. Clean exchange at about waist height after funneling ball in. Gets momentum into throws with a side shuffle. Clean, continuous arm path with a ¾ release. On the mound, athleticism and body control translate to a mechanically sound, repeatable delivery. Works with a quick pace to his throwing actions. Hands maintain rhythm into high leg lift. Shows some coil inward towards back hip. Slight bend on back-side at hand break as he begins working down the slope. Arm action stays short & compact with a loose, whippy finish thru release. High follow 2-way prospect in the 2023 class. |

Starts in a wide, balanced set up in the box with lower half aligned towards pitcher. Knee-knock type of load with a high leg kick to shift weight onto back-side. Stays tall in his lower half with a flat finish to his barrel as he rotates around his core. Defensively, showed solid actions in the OF with an aggressive tempo on the looks we saw. Uses short, choppy footwork as he approaches the ball. Shows a step-behind shuffle while exchanging into throwing motion. Full arm path that gets shorter at release. Throws from a ¾ slot. Backside comes thru after release. |

From the left side of the plate, starts slightly open in a narrow stance with upright posture. Hands begin high, away from body before pulling back towards rear shoulder as he gets out of leg lift. Lands in a balanced position with weight centered. Worked quick, direct to the ball & produced mostly line drive contact throughout BP. Lofted finish as he rotates against a firm front leg. Defensively, shows active footwork that should continue to play in the INF as he gets stronger and fills out his frame. Works to get behind the ball then comes thru with steady rhythm as he funnels in. Feet align with target and get momentum behind the ball with a side shuffle. Keeps arm path short and tight into release. Long, whippy finish as he follows thru. On the mound, works from the first base side of rubber. Steady, slow paced delivery with balanced throwing actions. Stays tall at leg lift as he drives back knee towards rear shoulder. Has some flexion in back leg as he gets down the mound and into cross action landing. Full, continuous arm path with a high ¾ release. Hips come thru after release. |
Holt Williams C / 1B / Camas, WA / 2023Big bodied frame at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds. Already shows some strength and development in his build. Balanced stance in the box with some weight pre-shifted onto his back-side. Drives front knee up to waist height as he hovers on back leg during his load. Hands stay loose while keeping bat above rear shoulder with a flat barrel angle. For a taller hitter, does a solid job staying connected and keeps barrel inside of the ball. Swing works thru the zone easily with a high finish after contact. Defensively, presents a sizeable target behind the dish. Maintains a compact set up with a slightly staggered base. Keeps flexion in glove hand while receiving. Simple transition out of crouch with clean actions into his throwing motion. Exchanges ball at chest height into a short, bent arm action with high ¾ release. Consistent carry on the ball thru target. |
