NC Top Underclass Games - Statistical Breakdown

Thursday August 10^th saw the Top Underclass Games raid Campbell Universities’ Jim Perry Stadium. With close to fifty players in attendance, PBR, area pro scouts, and college coaches got a good look at some of the top underclass players in North Carolina.

The day started with a workout for the position players. Each player went through a full BP, on field, followed by a positional defensive workout. Along with evaluations, each player received verified statistics from the PBR staff. Run times, pop times, and arm speeds were taken and will be posted to each player’s profile. In the coming days, each player will have a video from the event, posted on their PBR profile as well.

Following the workout, players were assigned to teams and participated in one of two controlled scrimmages. Pitchers worked to live hitters. PBR’s staff controlled the length of innings to control pitch counts and stress. Each pitcher worked two innings, facing 4 – 6 hitters per inning.

It was an impressive group of players with some making a case to improve their current ranking in North Carolina and many others making their case to be added to the rankings.

Top Underclass Games Quick Hitters

+ 47 Players took part in the Top Underclass Games
+ 15 Players ran a 7.40, or better 60… 6 ran better than 7.20
+ 6 Position players showed an arm speed of better than 80 mph from their position
+ 9 catchers registered Pop Times of better than 2.20… 3 were below 2.10
+ 12 hitters had exit velocities, off the barrel, of 84 mph or higher
+ 7 pitchers touched 83 or better with their fastball… 1 touched 90.
