North Carolina Team Notes
DI JUCOs
D1 Tournament is currently being played in Lexington, SC. You can follow all of the action through the Region X Tournament site HERE.
Louisburg
- Defeated Brunswick CC on Monday 10-9. Drew Camp went 1-2 with 2 RBI’s
- Defeated Lenoir CC on Tuesday 8-7. Joshua Pittman went 2-4 with 3 RBI’s
- Won game 1 of the Region X Tournament over USC Union 8-7(11 inn). Landon Smith had the walk off hit in the 11th inning.
- Lost their following two games to Florence Darlington Tech (6-2 loss) and USC Lancaster (16-10 loss)
- Louisburg's 2019 season has concluded - Final record of 26-18
DII JUCOs
The DII tournament has been moved to Pitt CC with the original scheduled host, Morehead City still recovering from last fall's hurricane. The tournament information page can be seen HERE.
Tournament pairing for the 1st round, set to begin on Friday May 10th are as follows:
G1 at 10:00am: #1 Brunswick vs. #8 Guilford Tech
G2 at 1:00pm: #4 Catawba Valley vs. #5 Southeastern
G3 at 4:00pm: #2 Paul D Camp vs. #7 Wake Tech
G4 at 7:00pm: #3 Pasco-Hernando vs. #6 Pitt (Pasco-Hernando won Region 8 to enter this tournament)
Brunswick CC
- Lost a Monday game to Louisburg 10-9. Easton Jones homered twice and Kyle Tatum homered once in the loss.
- Defeated Pro 5 Academy on Saturday 9-1.
- Patrick Downum homered twice with 3 RBI’s in the victory.
Catawba Valley CC
- Split a midweek doubleheader with Bodyshop Baseball. W 15-0, L 6-3
- Jackson Brown went 3-3 with a homerun and 4 RBI’s in the game one win.
- Defeated Fayetteville Tech CC 1-0 in game one on the weekend. Games two and three were cancelled due to rain.
- Logan Bender tossed 8 innings, allowing 1 hit and striking out 18 in the win.
Wake Tech CC
- Lost 2 of 3 to Paul D. Camp CC on the weekend. W 8-6, L 6-2, L 8-3
- Tyler Vaughn went 3-5 with 2 RBI’s in the game one win and homered with 2 RBI’s in game three.
- Kevin Mills went 2-4 in the game two loss.
Pitt CC
- Split two games with Guilford Tech CC on the weekend with game three being rained out. W 4-2, L 5-2
- Will Liverpool earned the mound win in game one tossing 6 innings, allowing 2 hits, 0 runs, and striking out 6. Noah Jones got the save going 3 innings and striking out 4.
- Austin LaFollette and Caleb Morris homered in the game one win.
Guilford Tech CC
- Split two games with Pitt CC on the weekend with game three being rained out. L 4-2, W 5-2
- Cort Maynard went 3-4 with 2 doubles and an RBI in the game two win.
- Ryan Farkas went 2-2 with a double and 2 RBI’s in the game two win.
Lenoir CC
- Lost a midweek game to Louisburg 8-7. Travis Cross went 2-4 with double and RBI in the loss.
- Lost two games to Bryant & Stratton College over the weekend with game three being rained out. L 19-9, L 3-0
- Michael Gans and Travis Cross had 3 hits apiece in the game one loss.
Southeastern CC
- Lost 2 of 3 to Patrick Henry CC on the weekend. W 19-11, L 6-2, L 12-1(5 inn)
DIII JUCOs
With wins this past weekend, Surry CC claims the No. 1 seed and will host the DIII Region X championships. You can see the championship's page HERE.

Friday, May 10
G1 at 1:00 pm: Thomas Nelson (3) vs. Rockingham (2)
G2 at 4:00 pm or 30 minutes after completion of G1: Thomas Nelson (3) vs. Surry (1)
Saturday, May 11
G3 at 12:00 pm: Rockingham (2) vs. Surry (1)
G4 at 3:00 pm or 30 minutes after completion of G3: Championship Game (unless all teams are 1-1)
Sunday, May 12
*G5 at 12:00 pm: Championship Game (if needed)
*If all teams are 1-1 after Game 3, the No. 1 seed will advance to Game 5
Rockingham CC
- Lost two games to Surry CC on the weekend with games three and four cancelled due to rain. L 14-10, L 8-5
- Kelsey Weems went 3-4 with 2 homeruns and 6 RBI’s in the game one loss.
- Hayden Wilson and Gavin Taylor had 2 hits apiece in the game two loss.
Surry CC
- Swept two games against Rockingham CC over the weekend with games three and four cancelled due to rain. W 14-10, W 8-5
- Drew Martin went 1-4 with a double and 3 RBI’s in the game one win.
- John Marion went 3-4 with a double and 3 RBI’s in the game two win.
