Scouting Report
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Stout and broad at 6-foot-1 195-pounds, gaining size and strength since last viewing, competed as two-way player, on mound has a fairly high ceiling, good delivery and understands how his body works, loose high knee lift, on-time separation, long deep backside with control of arm swing, firm stride leg with good front side stability for leverage, real nice extension to release point, stuff comes out of hand easily, chance to really develop quality stuff and with minimal arm effort, occasionally does rush down slope and lost some umph when in the stretch, fastball (T84) with length through zone, curveball (67-69 mph) feel is good and has late break with two-plane action, certainly has chance to be high quality second pitch, change-up (70-71 mph) could become a plus pitch for him, has feel of it and looks capable of being a swing and miss pitch at times. Quality full three-pitch repertoire and good velocity projectability.
Scouting Report
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Strong bodied young player at 5-foot-11, 160-pounds, strength throughout his body, competed as a two-way player, on the mound has an overhand slot, good rhythm and good arm speed, on-line direction down slope, finishes with some negative momentum as he spins off a little bit at times, bit more lower body stability and the stuff will increase due to better leverage, as it is, the stuff is good for a freshman pitcher, fastball pretty crisp (T82) with flashes of good angle through zone and occasional late run, big 11/6 type curveball with steady continual break, threw best curveball from stretch, showed change-up as a still developing pitch as he works toward consistent feel, did keep the change-up down more often than not.
Scouting Report
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Long athletic build, at 6-foot-2 180-pounds he's well-proportioned and has present strength, energetic delivery, easy knee lift, long backside arm action visible behind backside, long on-line stride landing with heel strike and slight fanning of front foot, inconsistent timing in delivery caused some release point struggles early in the pen session, can work to maintain better balance to gain a more consistent release point, fastball was up and running big to arm side (T77) out of wind-up but kept it down in the stretch, curveball (64-66 mph) with wide somewhat early break, did occasionally get to extension on curveball and it greatly improved the pitch toward the end of the session, best pitch was change-up (74-75 mph) that he kept down and threw with feel, delivery seemed to calm down on change-up and it allowed for that feel.
Scouting Report
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Body description from previous viewings holds up, 5-foot-11 180-pounds, wide shoulders, strong from upper legs through hips, high knee lift, unique delivery that creates deception, deep long arm action on backside where hand is visible and then brings hand up behind head and it disappears, long stride with some slight-cross body, aggressive with arm working to get full front side extension, does fall off a bit and should he eliminate that there is a chance to take his stuff up a notch, fastball (T84) with good angle at times through zone, throws it aggressively, curveball (66-68 mph) with big 12/5 shape, good spin and bite at times, certainly makings of an above average pitch, change-up (72-73 mph) with good variance off fastball and diving action in the zone, hard to discern change-up from fastball out of the hand. Quality pitcher with full repertoire and a unique delivery that creates a different look. Looks poised for a big junior year as a 2020 to keep an eye on.
Scouting Report
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Wiry thin body but there is life in that 5-foot-11 165-pounds, quick loose arm, high energy quirky delivery with distractions to a hitter's eyes, good athleticism in delivery with body control, has clearly worked hard to own his delivery, high knee tuck tight to body, quick out of glove, deep backside arm action not all that easy to pick up, high-3/4 slot, slight cross-body stride, good front side stability and extension, balance throughout, fastball (T84) is quick now and with strength there is more coming, good fastball run was consistent, threw both curveball (63-64 mph) and slider (72-73 mph) with tight spin on both, displayed a bit more feel of the curveball which was also a bit tighter than the slider, slider could use a little more finish, change-up (73-75 mph) with occasional cutting action. All pitches were quality and there was just a feel about him that he can get plenty of hitters out. Interesting senior for 4-year programs still looking for a left-hander.
Scouting Report
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Talented left-handed pitcher, full-bodied at 6-foot-0 220-pounds, does have good athleticism and a composed repeatable delivery, shaping his build a bit more could/would only enhance his stuff and overall ability which presently is quite good, easy knee lift, good timing of separation, on-line delivery, compact backside arm action with slight stab/stick back, 3/4 slot, good arm speed and good feel of the ball, gets to firm front side stability which allows for very good extension, uses legs well, maintains calm head, fastball wasn't lighting up gun (T83) but was quick and crisp at the plate with life and movement, works with good tempo, curveball (68-69 mph) feel is well above average and has steady break that keeps on going away from a left-handed hitter and uncomfortably into the body of a right-handed hitter, change-up (74-75 mph) thrown with feel and finish, three quality pitches and a delivery that works well, there is a ceiling he hasn't reached yet. He can pitch, no doubt.
Scouting Report
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - A noticeable 6-foot-3 190-pounds, good frame with ability to hold size and strength, well-proportioned with sloping shoulders and still has room to put on some position size, calm repeatable delivery, easy lift gets knee a bit higher than waist, syncs up separation well with downward move to his stride, on-line stride and good lower body stability allows him to get to extension and feel his pitches out front, good arm strength means he doesn't have to force the ball, maintains steady head, looks to be a good candidate to gain velocity as the spring heats up, fastball (T84) with control to different spots, breaking ball with slider type action (71-72 mph) has good and occasionally tight spin with late break, has potential to be a swing and miss pitch, change-up (77 mph) thrown with feel and occasional cut action. Three quality pitches, good delivery, good body, has a chance to come on this spring.
Scouting Report
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Has grown since last view a few months ago, up to 5-foot-10 152-pounds, lean/lanky upper body with wide shoulders, is developing size/strength in lower body, still quite a ways from any sort of physical maturity which is a good thing, competed as a two-way player, on mound has calm delivery with easy knee lift and good timing of separation, tends to have elbow start the ball out of his glove bringing arm behind backside, good direction down the mound and lands with firm stride leg, gets to 3/4 release point, all holds up to last viewing notes, upper body was somewhat dominant in his delivery and a tad early to open up causing him to spin off after release, fastball was mostly up (T77) with tailing action, best pitches were curveball (62-64 mph) with good spin and two-plane break, feel of change-up (69-71 mph) was above average for age and has life at the plate. Chance to keep developing into a very solid pitcher in 2022 class.
Scouting Report
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Physical description consistent with previous viewings, 6-foot-0 195-pounds with some strength throughout lower body, does still retain room for upper body to fill out, composed demeanor, calm smooth delivery, easy lift, shallow backside arm action with hook of wrist at full extension, on-line stride and maintains stability with lower body, deliberate movement toward landing, arm gets to overhand slot, displays good control of all three pitches, fastball (T81) will have more velocity as season goes along, occasional angle on that pitch, doesn't force anything, curveball (67-70 mph) with 12/5 shape and smooth continuous break, has feel of the zone with it, change-up (73-75 mph) was best pitch as he displayed both feel and good movement (turns it over), change-up should elicit quite a bit of soft contact.
Scouting Report
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Long, lean, lanky young body type on 5-foot-10 140-pound frame, long-ish arms, looks got be solidly projectable in a physical sense, good delivery, easy fluid lift, compact and smooth backside arm action, strides on-line and maintains balance, overhand slot, good extension, all looks set-up for future velocity and stuff gains, fastball (T81) got firmer as the session went along with velocity on last pitch, held velocity in stretch, occasionally created good fastball angle and run, comes out easy and should steadily gain velocity as he physically matures, big curveball (67-68 mph) thrown with feel in wind-up but lost some feel in stretch, 12/5 type break and flashed quick change of direction, still developing feel of the change-up (72-73 mph). Looks to have a good future on the mound, physical gains obviously will have a lot to do with his development.
Scouting Report
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Compact body type, appears to have gained some strength/size since last viewing, up to 5-foot-11 180-pounds, wide shoulders for his frame, arm action (overhand) and delivery all same as previous looks with the high knee lift and good direction down slope, lands on-line with slight heel strike and toe/foot pointed directly at catcher, was rotating to 1B side in follow through, fastball came out well for late January (T81), curveball (67-69 mph) with 12/5 shape, occasionally showed above average feel, smooth continual break, best pitch was change-up (73-74 mph) that has late dive action at it's best, change-up release looked comfortable.
Scouting Report
1/27/19 - N CA Preseason All-State - 6-foot-2, 165-pounds, remains long and lanky, but has put on good size since last viewing, body type still favorably projectable. Competed as a two-way player, on the mound has overhand slot, loose arm, works easily with good rhythm, good direction down slope, lands a bit on heel with foot in-line with target, heel land causes some spin out and a little loss of leverage, good length of the stuff through the zone, feel of the zone with three pitches, fastball (T81) not real firm but with more extension there is more velocity coming, best curveballs (68-70 mph) came in stretch, short break, easy smooth shape to it, best secondary pitch is change-up (71 mph) thrown with feel and good depth with late movement.
Scouting Report
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Long and lean/lithe body, has gained a bit more size since last viewing, long way to go until he's reached physical maturity, competed as two-way player, on the mound has high-3/4 slot, displayed good body control throughout delivery, gaining good lower body stability as well, on-line direction down slope with minimal/slight cross-stride, arm works with a subtle backside stab similar to Rick Porcello arm action, fastball at best had some riding action and other times flat run (T77), curveball is more slider-like with lateral break (68-69 mph), flashed feel of both secondary pitches though change-up was up more than down and that's somewhat due to a bit of an upright delivery finish.
Scouting Report
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Athletic body type on 5-foot-10 155-pound frame, well-proportioned and lean with ample room to fill out upper body, competed as a two-way player, on mound has high-ish high-3/4 slot, tilts head off center a bit to get arm through, controlled backside arm action, hides ball a bit, athletic delivery with easy tempo, shorter stride and maintained solid lower body stability though finishes with rotational spin off, easy arm action, fastball (T74) frequently had some cut action, best secondary pitch was change-up (65-67 mph) that had slight late fade, curveball was two-plane slurve type break (61-63 mph) with short movement and smooth break due to lack of front side extension/finish.
Scouting Report
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Long lanky and yet broad body type with wide hips on 6-foot-2 185-pound frame that appears taller than that, junior but still has quite youthful look to face and body development and very well could still be quite a ways from his ceiling, high easy knee lift, fluid delivery, long backside and easy arm action a bit behind body, on-line stride with good plant foot stability, gets to overhand slot and finishes with good extension while maintaining balance throughout delivery that projects to allow for future velocity development, fastball (T81) with occasional life through zone, best secondary pitch is change-up (72-74 mph) as he displayed some feel of that offering, it's not real varied off his fastball but the extension he gets to gives the pitch good deception, curveball (68 mph) wasn't there for him on this day.
Scouting Report
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Long and lanky body with ample room to fill out 6-foot-2 180-pounds, loose and fluid actions, long arm action, deep on backside with arm visible behind his backside, some cross-body stride and inconsistent placement of stride foot from pitch to pitch, high-3/4 slot as he pulls head slightly to left to get arm through, has some rotational movement as he follows through, arm speed is there and tightening up the mechanics such as timing of separation will enhance his stuff, fastball peaked at 79 mph, curveball (59-62 mph) has some shape and can use more extension for bite, third pitch is a split-finger fastball (68-70 mph) he kept down fairly well and showed makings of being a usable pitch. Body, arm, and overall stuff can play up significantly more as his delivery improves and becomes more consistent.

Scouting Report
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Strong and athletic body type, well-proportioned 6-foot-0 175-pounds, wide sloping shoulders, competed as a two-way player and showed well both ways, on mound displayed perhaps the top fastball/curveball combo of all pitchers at the event, high knee lift, quick tempo delivery, fairly quick separation and long deep backside arm action, on-line stride and lands closed, mid-3/4 slot, aggressive with arm and all his stuff, does spin off some but still gets hand to extension and allows feel for his repertoire, heavy fastball (T84) with considerable sink that looks capable of breaking bats, turns over the fastball to get that action, curveball (70-72 mph) with tight spin flashed late knee-buckling bite and repeatedly threw it with feel, fastball/curveball create scissor effect off each pitch's action, that curveball will get a lot of strikeouts looking and swinging, change-up (76-78 mph) was best in stretch when he did display feel of it, rushed it a bit in wind-up. Overall very impressive and the stuff isn't done developing.
