Scouting Report

Outlook:
The right-handed hitting corner infielder made strides over the break we had this year and came out with a more solid approach at the plate and it began to pay off for Iantomasi. You can easily see that the present strength is there at 6-foot-1, 195-pounds and it plays into his bat speed as there is whip through the zone and a power stroke that works to his pull side. His plate discipline improved over the tail end of the summer and into the fall and he looked to have simplified the movement in his swing and setup. The arm plays and can profile for third base and you can expect Iantomasi continues to add mass and size over the winter and be one of the more power projected bats from the Ontario class of 2022.

8.7.20
Iantomasi had a strong day as he showed power to the pull side and arm strength across the diamond during the days events while running a 7.33 sixty all in his 6-foot-1, 195-pound frame. There is extension in the finish and it doesn't take much for him to leave the yard in BP. A real nice showing from him and you can see he has been working over the break.

 2.19.18
A 6-foot, 185-pound 2021 classman, Iantomasi has a stocky and projectable frame, and has plenty of time to continue to get stronger and add more muscle. While there is definitely a need to get more athletic, Cole shows some raw tools from the right side of the plate. Easy swing with not a lot of moving parts and some raw pop (exit velocity: 88 mph), the corner infielder starts off from an open stance, uses a short leg kick in his load and shows some quickness through the zone. Uphill swing path with clean extension, ball flies off the bat, shows good bat speed. In the infield, Cole shows some fluidity in his footwork with clean arm action. Overall Cole had an impressive first showing and will be an interesting player to follow in the coming years as he develops and grows into his frame.
