Missouri Underclass Games: 2020-2021 Right-Handed Pitchers

On June 13, Prep Baseball Report Missouri held the Missouri Underclass Games.  Over 80 players in the 2019, 2020 and 2021 classes attended.

In the days to come, we will break down the event position-by-position.  Today we will take a look at the 2020 and 2021 Right-Handed Pitchers. Players are listed in alphabetical order.

Player's profiles have been updated with profile pictures, videos and stats from the event. Coaches will have new profiles to add their dashboard on ScoutPlus and players will be able to update information on their profile with ProspectPlus.

2020-2021 Right-Handed Pitchers

Nathan Chester 2B / Liberty North, MO / 2020

Chester is a 5-foot-11 170-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class.  Chester has a short over the top arm slot, compact and repeatable delivery, creates in line direction down the mound, fastball at 78-79 mph, some with slight run, curveball has 12-to-6 shape, downward action, throws for a strike, 64-65 mph.

Sammy Cooper RHP / Lees Summit West , MO / 2020

Cooper is a 5-foot-11 175-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Cooper has a strong frame, athletic delivery, repeats, in line stride, competitive pitches around the zone with all pitches, challenges hitters, over the top release, fastball 78-81 mph, works inside, running action, breaking ball has 11-to-5 shape, 68-69 mph, some with late and sharp action, creates swing and miss. 

Jake Evans OF / Park Hill , MO / 2020

Evans is a 6-foot 150-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Evans comes from a three-quarters arm slot, deceptive delivery, slightly across body, hides ball until release, slender frame with quick arm action, fastball at 73-76 mph, some with late run, slider at 60-63 mph, gradual 10-to-4 action.

Will Fricker OF / Park Hill South, MO / 2020

Fricker is a 6-foot-1 170-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Fricker has an long and lean frame, projectable, high three quarters release, in line stride, throws with regular effort, works mostly arm side with fastball, 80-83 mph, slider has 10-to-4 shape, gradual break

Griffin Henry SS / Lees Summit West, MO / 2020

Henry is a 6-foot-1 177-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class.  Henry was aggressive in the zone with fastball and curveball, athletic delivery, works downhill, high three quarters arm slot, in line stride, throws with regular effort, loose arm action, fastball worked 78-80 mph, late running and sinking action, curveball has sharp 12-to-6 action, 70-71 mph, commanded both sides of the plate, strike thrower with both pitches.

Benjamin Jones C / Liberty, MO / 2020

Jones is a 5-foot-9 175-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Jones has a simple and repeatable delivery, accelerates down the mound, high three quarters arm slot, strong build, loose arm action, fastball has slight late run, 75-78 mph, curveball has 11-to-5 rolling action, throws both pitches for strikes, pitching to mostly soft contact.

Corbin Kamradt RHP / Liberty North , MO / 2020

Kamradt is a 6-foot-2 140-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Kamradt has a high three quarters release, loose and lean build, throws with regular effort, projectable, gets downhill, locates fastball, produces ground balls, 77-81 mph, running action, sharp breaking ball, shows command, 68-70 mph, advanced pitch, fields position well, athletic.

Anthony Klein 3B / Parkway Central, MO / 2020

Klein is a 6-foot 175-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Klein has high three quarters release, throws with effort, quick tempo in delivery, arm will drop to lower slot at times,  works quick between pitches, in line stride, fastball has slight running action at 74-79 mph, slider at 62-66 mph, sweeping action, had command of the zone with both pitches, strike thrower, pitching to contact

Christian Little RHP / CBC, MO / 2021

Little is a 6-foot-2 155-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. Little has an easy delivery, quick and loose arm action, projectable frame with poise on the mound, throws with regular effort, shows advanced command and feel for secondary pitches, fastball touched 85 mph, working 82-84 mph, fastball has late life with running action, advanced breaking ball, 11-to-5 action, sharp and late break, fastball arm speed, 66-67 mph, little looks to be top player to follow in the 2021 class.

Alex Logusch SS / De Smet , MO / 2020

Logusch is a 6-foot- 170-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class.  Logusch has a high three quarters release, athletic delivery, repeats, loose arm action, strong frame with room add strength, in line stride, fastball was 78-81 mph, late cutting action, 11-to-5 breaking ball, throws for a strike, late and sharp action, has feel and looks to better as he continues to develop, 69-70 mph, produced mostly weak contact during his inning of work.

Zach McKinnis OF / Kickapoo, MO / 2021

McKinnis is a 6-foot-1 165-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class, recently committed to Missouri.  McKinnis attacks hitters, will throw inside, high three quarters release, lean and projectable, loose arm action, throws with some effort, aggressive down the mound, fastball at 75-78 mph, slight sink, curveball has 11-to-5 action, late break, throws change up at 68 mph, down in zone, shows command of three pitches.

Joey Moorkamp RHP / Lafayette , MO / 2020

Moorkamp is a 6-foot-4 195-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Moorkamp has a high three quarters release, throws with regular effort, works slightly across body, can throw strikes arm side, tough on left handed hitters, fastball at 76-79 mph, has feel for curveball, throws for strike, slurve type shape, flashing depth.

Zack Ploch RHP / Timberland, MO / 2020

Ploch is a 5-foot-11 190-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Ploch has an over the top release, throws with some effort, aggressive down the mound, attacks strike zone, strong frame with arm strength, does have deception in delivery, hides ball, throws breaking ball with fastball arm speed, fastball has life with running action, late, 81-83 mph, curveball has 11-to-5 shape, flashing late break. 

Garrett Rice RHP / Willard, MO / 2020

Rice is a 6-foot-1 235-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class, recently committed to Missouri. Rice has an over the top release, throws with some effort, strong and durable frame, fastball at 77-81 mph, straight, curveball has 11-to-5 action, occasional sharp action, throws change up at 66-67 mph, some with late sink.

Ethan Schmitt RHP / Valley Park , MO / 2020

Schmitt is a 6-foot-1 185-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Schmitt comes from an over the top arm slot, throws with regular effort, fluid arm action, in line and downhill, fastball has arm side run, throws heavy ball with ground ball contact, fastball at 80-83 mph, slider has 10-to-4 shape, late and sharp break.

Tyler Worley RHP / Liberty North , MO / 2020

Worley is a 6-foot 150-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Worley has an over the top release, worked 72-76 mph with fastball, throws with regular effort, works downhill, in line stride, breaking ball has 12-to-6 shape, some sharp action, 62-64 mph.
