Mark Kryziak, Texas Rangers Associate Scout, assembled a team of solid playersthis fall and traveled to Iowa this past weekend to play in a Perfect Game National Qualifier.  Some notable names on the Michigan Selects roster are Brett Adcock, Alex Sova, Tone Jacobs, Grant Miller, Zach Olszewski, Grant Bridgewater, Logan Gatza, Hunter Gatza, Luke Scharich, Tyler Palm and Alex Valasek.

On the weekend the Selects went 2-1-1 with big wins over Bo Jackson Baseball and Team Acceleration. On the weekend the Selects scored 40 runs while only allowing 13.  

Game 1 Notes- Loss 4-2

• No. 12 Tone Jacobs (2014) pitched three scoreless innings and sat 83-86 mph.  According to reports, Jacobs once again showed good life on his fastball as it ran arm side.
• Western Michigan Commit, No. 21 Grant Miller had a double in the game.

Game 2 Notes- Win 4-2

• No. 32 Alex Sova (2014) threw 4 innings of shut out babseball against Team Accelerartion. Sova was very good on the day at his fastball sat 80-84 mph and touched an 85 mph.  He allowed no runs and no hits in his outing. 
• No. 19 Zach Olszewski, a recent Bethune Cookman commit went 3-3 at the plate recording three doubles and driving in 6 runs. 
• Unsigned senior No. 45 Grant Bridgewater went 2-4 with 1 run and drove in 2 RBI's.
• Unsigned senior  No. 37 Sam Brooks finished also had a nice game going 1-2 driving in 2 runs and scoring 2 for the Selects.

Game 3 Notes- Tie 4-4

• Unsigned senior Alex Valasek had a clutch double to tie up the score in the bottom of the sixth.
• No. 21 Grant Miller added another two hits and showed that he is a pure hitter.
• No. 17 Tyler Palm, Oakland commit used all 6-foot-10 of his fram and struck out 10 hitters.  His fastball sat 81-85 mph while he commanded his breaking ball. 

Game 4 Notes- Win 20-5

• No. 21 Grant Miller went 2-2 again at the plate including 3RBI's and a triple.
• Hunter Gatza also had a triple and 3 RBI's
• No. 19 Zach Olszewski, a recent Bethune Cookman commit, was 1-4 with 2 RBI and a run scored.
• Unsigned senior No. 37 Sam Brooks went 2-3 sith a double 2 RBI's and 3 runs scored. 
• Unsigned senior Logan Gatza also added a triple on the day.
• Unsigned senior, Alex Valasek went 2-3 at the plate with 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored.
• No. 27 Luke Scharich, a recent Oakland commit, got the win for the Selects allowing 2 runs on 4 hits.  HIs fastball velocity on the day was 80-84 mph. 
• No. 3 Brett Adcock, a Michigan commit, known more for his pitching also hit well this going 2-4
