With their first full high school season in the books and a long summer full of events, tournaments, and showcases, the 2018 Michigan class is well on their way to being an extremely talented group of baseball players. It seems that each year the talent is getting better and the level at which these kids are playing is top-notch.
Team Michigan stormed this year’s PBR Future Games with an extremely talented group of players, which included six 2018 graduates who all make their debuts in this version of the Michigan rankings. Many 2018 graduates have burst onto the scene here in the state of Michigan, as well as across the nation.
John Malcom (Country Day HS, uncommitted, pictured right) has earned the nod as the number 1 ranked player in the state of Michigan in the 2018 class. The impressive two-way prospect has a solid frame at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, that allows him to swing with impressive bat speed, working in a gap to gap approach with legitimate power to all fields. Malcom put on an impressive display during batting practice at the 2015 Future Games and also had some impressive at bats during game action.
