This week we are rolling out our fall breakdown of the Class of 2019 Rankings by position. We will also highlight some of the top uncommitted prospects from those positions as we go. Today we continue with a look at the Class of 2019 Outfielders.

Class of 2019 Outfielders

Our latest update to the Maryland rankings included 24 outfielders inside the Top 155. 12 of which remain uncommitted to date with several capable of making a big impact at the next level.

TOP UNCOMMITTED CLASS OF 2019 OUTFIELDERS

Report: Projectable lanky frame at 6-foot-2, 160-pounds. Hits from an athletic open set up at the plate. Smooth load back as he squares up with lower half. Free hands at the plate with quick hands and nice extension through contact. Nice rhythm at the plate with lower half usage and balance. Gap to gap type hitter that should fill the gaps. Exit velo of 78 mph. Should get better as he gets stronger. Sound footwork at first base with clean exchange and sound hands. Throws from a lower slot with a position velocity of 70 mph.

Report: Big, solid body type and 6-foot-2, 220 pound frame. Cerrud-Osmer hits from a balanced, athletic, slightly open, wide base at the plate with minimal movement. Small pick it up - put it down front foot stride and slight back load. Does a nice job with lower half and remains balanced throughout swing. Stays behind the ball well and showed quick hands and fast bat speed. Exit velo was up to 95 mph. Shorter, level swing path with ability to put balls in gaps with ease. Showed some present strength at the plate during BP as well. Plays through the ball in the outfield with fluid footwork and a quick, clean exchange. Throws with long arm action from a high three-quarter slot at 83 mph. Also ran a 7.25 60-yard dash.

Shawn Taylor OF / OF / Pocomoke, MD / 2019

Report: Athletic body and frame hits from an athletic set up at the plate. Hands are quick but does get out of balance at times. Showed hand speed and some pop at the plate with a ground rule double to left center. Projectable. Moves well in the outfield, looks like continued repetitions will make more comfortable. Gets to ball in the outfield. Showed ability to play in the infield with some athleticism. Showed flashes of high level potential. Interesting and one to keep an eye on.

Derrick Booker OF / Archbishop Curley , MD / 2019

Report: Athletic, solid body type and 5-foot-9, 155 pound frame. Hits from am athletic, open stance at the plate with feet shoulder width apart. Small leg kick load and a short, uphill swing path. Quick hands, and quick bat speed. Generates nice lower half involvement, stays behind the ball well and showed extension through contact. Swing showed fluid rhythm and a one-handed strong finish. Exit velo was 83 mph. Athletic and plays through the ball in the outfield with fluid footwork and a clean exchange. Throws with longer arm action from a high three-quarter slot at 76 mph. Can really track the ball down and cover ground with his 6.72 60-yard speed.

Ryan Looper OF / RHP / Oakland Mills, MD / 2019

Rankings StateRank: 113 / POS: 18

Report: Solid skill set in the field and free hands at the plate with some bat speed that could develop into a gap-to-gap type player as he adds strength.

Duke Marlowe OF / OF / Calvert, MD / 2019

Rankings StateRank: 123 / POS: 19

Report: Athletic body type and 5-foot-11, 165 pound frame. Hits from an athletic, balanced, slightly open stance at the plate. Shorter, smooth back load with a leg kick for timing. Creates nice separation and showed strong lower half involvement. Stays behind the ball well with good extension through contact. Showed quick hands and quick bat speed with an exit velo of 76 mph. Short uphill swing path and gap-to-gap type hitter. Athletic, and plays through the ball in the outfield with fluid footwork and a quick, clean exchange. Long arm action throwing from a high three-quarter slot at 77 mph. Ran a 7.27 60 yard dash.
