Marian Catholic Blanks Solorio 10-0 in Super-Sectional

CRESTWOOD, IL – Marian Catholic used a seven-run third inning outburst to put away Solorio in six innings 10-0 in the 3A Crestwood Super-Sectional. The Spartans sophomore southpaw Jordan Smevoll held Solorio in check surrendering just four hits over six innings of shutout baseball.
The Spartans offense needed just eight hits to score their 10 runs led by Mark DiLuia and Wyell Woods who both chipped in two hits apiece. Woods also drove in two of the 10 Spartan runs.
Marian Catholic’s Super-Sectional win earns them a trip to Silver Cross Field in Joliet, IL where they will take on the winner of Champaign Central and Mascoutah on Friday June 9 at 10am.
