A lot of action took place on the diamond last evening. Here is a look at scores and highlights from around the state.
(No.2) Woodford County 3 (No.16) West Jessamine 0
Logan Parrett drove in a run and Eli Boggess collected 2 hits as Woodford County moved to 2-0 on the season. Senior RHP Clinton Hollon threw 3 scoreless innings to pick up the victory.
(No.6) Lexington Christian Academy 2 Christian Academy of Knoxville 1
Taylor Blair drove in the go-ahead run to give the Eagles the lead in the sixth inning, as the LCA hung on to beat Christian Academy of Knoxville. After Cody Kalinowski tripled, Blair came to the plate with the score tied at one in the sixth inning, and doubled, bringing home Kalinowski. Lincoln Henzman, the No.1 ranked player in the 2014 class, started on the mound and racked up 7 K’s in 4 IP, allowing just 1 hit. Sophomore Drew Schacht struck out the side in the 7th to earn the save.

(No.9) Harrison County 2 Montgomery County 0
John King doubled and drove in a run while also recording the win on the mound, scattering 5 hits over 6 innings of work. Jordan Martin earned the save with a scoreless 7th. Martin also went 2-3 with an RBI.
(No.12) Male 6 DuPont Manual 1
Male continued to roll as senior Brandon Crabtree went the distance, picking up 7 K’s along the way. Crabtree, Heath Brownley, Chris Allen, Tyler Capito, and Daniel McFarland all had multi-hit games to lead the Bulldogs.

Morehead State recruit Jimmy Wright doubled twice, and EKU recruit Ben Fisher collected 3 hits as Madison Central cruised to victory. Jonah Kelsey had 4 RBI and Alex Georgel stroked a HR to contribute to the offensive attack. Kyle Kelsey went 4 innings to pick up the win.

Grayson County 2 (No.24) Daviess County 0 (8 innings)
Kyle Schneider and Kevin Pierce hooked up in a pitchers duel. Schneider threw 6 innings of 2-hit baseball for Daviess County and Pierce 7 innings of 4-hit baseball for Grayson Co as the game went to extra innings tied 0-0. Grayson County scored 2 runs in the top of the 8th, and Dalton Logsdon struck out the side to earn the save. Schneider collected 3 hits for Daviess County. Joseph Anthony went 3-4 to lead Grayson County to victory.
Owensoboro Catholic 15 (No. 25) Union County 5
Kentucky Country Day 6 Desales 5
Henry Crockett tripled and scored 3 runs, and Casey Klein doubled and drove in 2 as KCD scored 2 runs in the 6th and held on for the victory. Jordan Tallon picked up the win in relief of Kline, throwing 3 scoreless innings.
North Bullitt 4 Fairdale 0
Sophomore LHP Jacob Kelly allowed 1 hit with 9 K’s in 5 innings of work to pick up the victory. Clayton Kelly homered and drove in 2 runs to lead the North Bullitt offense. Chance Egnor collected 2 hits and Josh Exton doubled and drove in 2 runs in the winning cause.
Whitley County 6 McCreary Central 0
Steven Watson and Alex Rose combined on a 3-hit shutout with 13 K’s. Cody Lewis collected 2 RBI, and Casey Crisologo 2 hits and an RBI to lead the offensive attack.
Shelby County 12 Oldham County 1 (5 innings)
Spalding recruit Kam Bruner, Kevin Veeley, and Steven Standafer all collected 2 RBI apiece to lead the Rockets to victory. Tyler Eades allowed just 3 hits in going the distance for the Rockets to pick up the win.
Holy Cross (Louisville) 3 Bethlehem 2
Holy Cross scored 3 early runs and held on for the victory. Senior Clayton Snyder allowed 5 hits and 2 runs in going the distance to record the win.
Atherton 8 Bardstown 7
Evan Dyer doubled twice and Neil DeNicola doubled and tripled in leading Atherton to the one-run victory. Atherton scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th to win the game.
Corbin 4 Pulaski County 0
Corbin remained red hot in the shutout victory. Junior Taylor Combs delivered the big blow of the game with a 3-run HR that broke open a one-run game in the 6th inning. Kevin Goins allowed just 4 hits in going the distance in the complete game shutout.
Lone Oak 12 Dyersburg, TN 6 (8 innings)
Lone Oak exploded for 6 runs in the top of the 8th to seal the victory. Drew Schmitt collected 3 hits and 2 RBI, and eth English delivered a 2-run HR. Nick Shumaker picked up the win in relief, throwing 2 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball.
Cumberland County 15 Clay County 1 (5 innings)
EKU recruit Logan Skipworth collected 3 hits and 3 RBI, and Andrew Castillo and Andrew Perdue combined for 10 strikeouts in the 5 inning victory. Brian Leveridge added 3 RBI, and Canyon Roach 2 hits and 2 RBI for Cumberland County.
Whitfield Academy 10 Valley 0 (5 innings)
Senior Ryan Woosley went 2-3 with 4 RBI, and senior Ryan Ramey homered and drove in 3 runs. Woosley went the distance in allowing just 1 hit while striking out 6 pick up the win.
Nelson County 12 Hart County 1 (5 innings)
Dylan Beasley went 3-3, Alex Briney had 2 hits and 3 RBI, and Jared Proctor and Tyler Spalding each collected 2 hits in the victory. TJ Osborne went the distance in picking up the win.
Allen Central 5 Sheldon Clark 1
The Rebels made the most of 4 hits, and Dilion Lawson struck out 7 in 6 innings of work to record the win.
Betsy Layne 17 June Buchanan 7 (6 innings)
Kannon Newsome doubled, tripled, and drove in 3 runs to power Betsy Lane to victory. JT Hall also collected 3 hits and 3 RBI in the winning effort
Wayne County 14 Casey County 4 (5 innings)
Freshman Trey Blevins knocked in 4 runs, and freshman Nick Gillespie struck out 7 in going the distance.
Graves County 4 St. Mary 3
Clayton Carrico shut down the St. Mary offense on just 2 hits through 6 innings, and Callen Aldridge drove in 2 runs to lead the Graves County offense.
Lone Oak 8 Milan, TN 1
Sam Goode and Colby Griggs each collected 2 hits for Lone Oak to power the Purple Flash to victory. Cole Womack allowed only 2 hits in going the distance to pick up the win.
Mason County 13 Newport 1
Tyler Baxter earned the win for Mason County. Baxter gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out seven during his four innings of work. Logan Brown collected 3 hits and 3 RBI to lead the Mason County offensive attack.
Southwestern 7 Greenwood 3
Junior Trevor Stacey went 3-4 with an RBI, and junior Austin Bubnick added 2 RBI to lead Southwestern to victory. Senior Logan Starnes went the distance to pick up the complete game victory.
