Butler 13 DuPont Manual 11
Butler scored 9 runs in the 3rd inning and held on after an 8-run 7th inning for Manual. Senior Dallas Adkins had 2 hits and 2 RBI in the 9-run 3rd inning to lead Butler to victory. Bradley Ferriell got the win, allowing three runs over three innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered one hit.
Jeffersontown 11 Atherton 7
Jeffersontown turned a one-run defecit into an 11-7 victory by scoring 5 runs in the top of the 7th inning.
Central 5 Valley 2
Senior Otis Leverette scattered 6 hits over 7 innings of work to pick up the victory. Leverette recorded 6 K’s along the way.
Sayre 8 Frankfort 5
Sayre took the lead by scoring 3 runs in the top of the 7th and held on for the victory. Michael Flora was the star of the game for the Spartans, scattering 2 hits over 5 innings of relief to pick up the win. Flora also went 2-3 with an RBI to lead the Sayre offense.
Madison Central 10 Estill County 4
Morehead State recruit Jimmy Wright had a big night at the plate to lead Madison Central to the victory. Wright went 2-3 with a 3B, HR (GS), and 4 RBI. Sophomore Ben Morin added 2 hits as Madison Central won their season opener.
Danville 9 Marion County 5
Ciole Phillips went 2-4 with 2 RBI and JB Williams and Jay Hunn each added 2 hits apiece to lead the Admirals offensive attack.
Corbin 13 Somerset 3 (6 innings)
Junior Austin Combs picked up the win, allowing one earned run on 5 hits in 6 innings of work. Jacob Metzger had a big night at the plate going 3-4 with a double, HR, and 3 RBI to lead the Redhounds.
Greenup County 8 Russell 3
Seth Boyle and Karson Glancy each had 2 hits and 2 RBI to lead the Musketeers offense. Will McCall picked up the win and Joe Evans the save by tossing 3 scoreless innings.
Paul Laurence Dunbar 6 Henry Clay 5
Junior Aaron Ochsenbein allowed no hits and racked up 13 K’s in 5 innings of work, but Henry Clay made the game interesting by scoring 4 runs in the 6th inning after Ochsenbein had left the game. Travis Gaines had 3 hits and Michael Marsh added 2 hits and 3 RBI to lead the Dunbar offense.
Lone Oak 11 Huntington 1
Senior Sam Goode picked up the win allowing 1 run in 4 innings on the mound. Nick Shumaker and Bryce Wright each had 3 hits to lead the Lone Oak offense who exploded for 10 runs in the 3rd inning.
St. Xavier 14 Franklin County 1 (6 innings)
Senior Matt Lasley started and picked up the win and Sam Melchior homered as St, Xavier moved to 4-0 on the season.
