MN Preseason Underclass: Preview

The 3rd annual PBR MN Preseason Underclass event will be this Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Vadnais Heights Sports Center in Vadnais Heights, MN. The MN Preseason Underclass event has developed into one of the premier preseason events for players in Minnesota and the surrounding region to showcase themselves for college coaches and MLB scouts.

Today we take a brief look at past participants from the event, record holders in each statistical category, and players who look to make an impact at this year's event.

Over 25 players who have attended this event have ultimately committed to college baseball programs to continue their education and playing career; with many of these players that are still in their sophomore and junior years of high school. Past participants include Trent Palmer (Jacksonville), Sam Thoresen (Minnesota), Noah Winkelman (NW Florida CC), Dylan Criquet-Danielson (Oklahoma), Jimmy Ramsey (Oregon), Ben Livorsi (St. Louis), Aidan Maldonado (Illinois), Otto Grimm & Zachary Raabe (Minnesota), Seth Halvorsen (Missouri) and many other top performers.

Strong statistical numbers have been posted over the last 2 years at the PBR MN Preseason Underclass event and below we highlight the event record holder in each category:

The 2017 event is loaded with a strong group of players. A trio of arms expected to stand-out at this year's event include 2019 Ryan Sleeper, LHP, Lakeville North; 2019 Will Frisch, RHP, Stillwater; and 2020 Mac Horvath, RHP/SS, Rochester Century. Position players of note are 2019 Danny Callahan- a LHH corner player from Cretin-Derham Hall, 2019 MIF'ers Dalton McNamara- Centennial and Charlie Rubendall- DeLaSalle. And also power-hitting 2019 Eric Rinzel from Holy Family Catholic. These players along with numerous others will make the MN Preseason Underclass event extremely strong with college prospects.
