Summer season means that recruiting for most college programs is about to shift into second gear. Coaches travel the land high-and-low in their attempt to find future players to better their roster. As a player, this can be a nerve racking time. There is no need to panic, as coaches will be out to see you play. Control the controllable things and work on your game.
PBR Maryland will be doing features throughout the summer highlighting players that have the ability to play at the college level. Today we focus on Ryan Brown, a 2016 outfielder from Hagerstown, MD.
Scouting Report
Solid and athletic frame at 5-foot-10 170-pound. Crisp footwork in the outfield with soft hands and a clean exchange. He works thru the ball and throws from an over-the-top arm angle with a long arm action. Throws were accurate and had some carry at a consistent 82 mph. Offensively he hits from a slightly open stance with balance throughout his swing. Front foot trigger. He has quick hands with fast bat speed and gets slightly long at times. He is line drive type hitter with an exit velocity of 86 mph. Brown covers plenty of ground with a 6.80 60 yard dash and reportedly has improved that time into the 6.6 range.
