Summer season means that recruiting for most college programs is about to shift into second gear. Coaches travel the land high-and-low in their attempt to find future players to better their roster. As a player, this can be a nerve racking time. There is no need to panic, as coaches will be out to see you play. Control the controllable things and work on your game.
PBR Maryland will be doing features throughout the summer highlighting players that have the ability to play at the college level. Today we focus on Alex Parker, a 2016 right-handed pitcher and catcher from Westminster, MD.
Scouting Report
Strong frame at 6-foot-2 190-pounds. He throws from an almost over-the-top arm angle with quick arm speed and a loose arm action. He stays tall in his delivery with smooth rhythm and pitches with regular effort. His fastball has hard sinking action on it with good command at 86 mph. His breaking ball has 11/5 shape with late break on the pitch with near fastball arm speed at 70-73 mph. His changeup has fade to it with near fastball arm speed, needs more consistency with the pitch but stays down.
